I hear that HP is best recommended but i have been going through a few posts an came across this "Scanners are different. There are some scanners (as do some printers) that work only in Windows via the GDI interface - they are designed this way. So dont buy GDI printers and stuff. For a scanner to work in Linux, it has to be SANE compatible. And most vendors dont bother to check their devices compatibility with Linux so missing a "Linux compatible" label doesnt say anything. Just try using xsane see if it works. When he tries to print to PDF, it errors out and stops at 256 KB. If he prints a file smaller than 256 KB it will print, but anything over that stops in the error printing file same place each time. I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 537Views Categories: Windows Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 1 reply 1. Re: Adobe PDF gives status Error - Printing at 256 KB Bill@VT Nov 30, 2012 1:43 AM (in response to MongooseDeuce) What version of AAX? It is likely the user is running 10.0 that does not function properly on a 64-bit system. If they can open AAX, then they should go to the help menu and do updates until all are complete. The current version is 10.1.4. The updates can also be found at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and should be installed in order (they are generally not cummulative). 1 person found this helpful Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions Actions More Like This Retrieving data ...
