March 17, 2007 -- latestarters The glitch I had in printing was that I was unable to cancel a bad print job from the printing queue. It simply sat in front of the queue of print jobs without being printed or deleted. I am running Windows XP Professional, however, this experience may happen error processing command on all Windows operating systems. The reason for this glitch is that the print manager was not able to delete the spooler file caching the print job. Therefore, the solution is to remove the print job manually. 1. Locate the print job under the print spooler directory. It's usually under %SystemRoot%\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\PRINTERSwhere %SystemRoot% is the installation directory of Windows OS. 2. You can find the files according to time stamp and size, and try to delete them, however, it usually doesn't work because there is a lock on these files by the "Print Spooler" service. 3. Click "Control Panel" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Services" and find "Print Spooler". The "Status" column shows "Started". Right click the service to "Stop" it. 4. Leave the "Services" open and go back to the directory in Step 1 to delete those files. 5. Go back to the "Services" windows and right click the "Print Spooler" service to "Start" it again. Now happy printing again! Like this:Like Loading... Related Posted in computer, printing, technology, Windows XP. 19 Comments » 19 Responses to "Trouble

Solved Error Processing Command appeared when printing on HP Business Inkjet 2280tn Posted on 2008-06-05 Printers and Scanners Peripherals 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 4,903 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-15 I sent a print job to HP Business Inkjet 2280tn which is connected to network through HP jet direct print server. However, the document was not printed. When I looked at the print queue, the "printing" word appeared on the job and it changed to "error printing" after 1 minute. On the bottom of the page, a message stating "error processing command" also popped up. I could ping the printer. 0 Question by:QBRad Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 9 Best Solution byQBRad Turns out the laptop is using a port replicator and the user was plugging the replicator into different USB ports each day causing the printer to re-install each time. See it makes any difference. Has it ever worked? 0 LVL 9 Overall: Level 9 Message Author Comment by:QBRad2008-06-05 It was working for a year and few weeks ago, it became erratic. For the last few weeks, disconnecting from the network and reconnecting would make it work. Two weeks ago, I replaced the built-in print server with a jetdirect printserver. It has been working since the replacement until yesterday. I also added a new printer setup and used the driver that I downloaded from HP website. It is still not printing. 0 LVL 16 Overall: Level 16 Printers and Scanners 3 Peripherals 1 Message Expert Comment by:Wadski2008-06-05 Do you have anything like an ISA server in the company? I've had these randomly 'interfere' with the printer traffic. Can you connect to the Jet Direct card by typing the Printer IP into your browser. If you can can you ready the statuses and error lofs and see if there is anything in there
