How To Recover Corrupted Corel Draw X3 File
GunterKruse August 28, 2015 at 06:44:58 Specs: Windows 7, Pentium 4 2GHz / 4 gigs. I have a number of files that I can not open in corel draw. These were created a few years ago using Corel http://community.coreldraw.com/talk/coreldraw_x3_and_older/f/18/t/10743 draw 7.0 on a PC running Win95 or 98.I have re-loaded CDR7 on my current PC running Windows2000 and I get the error "Error Reading /..../xxx.cdr file"On the most critical file, the progress bar at the bottom gets to 40% before the error message appears.I can load and save new files without problem, but some (but not all) of the old files are unreadable.I have found an old hard disk and installed Windows98 and cdr on http://www.computing.net/answers/digitalphoto/corel-draw-error-reading-file-problem/4683.html it - no effect. Also I have installed the printer driver for the printer that (I think) was used then - no effect.Any suggestions ? I'm sorry to say it seems like these files got either corrupted during the backup operation (it does happen) or... there has been cases (I experienced it twice before realizing what was going on) when nested groups of objects left in the Desktop area (outside the boundaries of a page) cause a file to become corrupted at save. It's an issue that was first identified in v.10 and to date I don't know if it's been resolved. By nested groups I mean several groups of objects grouped together into one big "group of groups". I dont exactyly what features Corel Draw 7 has. If it has save as CMX (corel exchange format) it would be more compatible than CDR format. Consider that some layout may lost. But if you insist want keep the CDR format, try open using newer version, I.E. v. 8, 9 or 10 before ope

coreldraw 12. after i saved corel files, some times when i am trying to open that files it says that error reading a bitmap in file then drive folder name. please give the me solution to open that files. thank you santhosh AnswerSanthosh Bitmaps can be included in CorelDraw documents in two different ways: they may be 'embedded', which is the most common way, and in this case the bitmap file is copied into the Draw document, and is the original bitmap file is not used again; or the bitmap file may be 'externally linked' where only a small low resolution copy of the bitmapo is included in the Corel Drawing, but it also maintains a link to the original external file for use when printing, and this file is used for best quality with large images. When you import a bitmap you have a check box to choose whether it shoudl be external or embedded, and it sounds as if maybe you have 'externally linked' bitmaps in your Corel Draw files, and that the externally linked files or the CorelDraw file have been moved from their original folders or renamed. If the linked bitmap file does not have the same name and appear in exactly the same folde rposition in relation to the Corel Drawing as it did when you saved it, then when you reopen it the software may be unable to find it and will report this as a fault, and will tell you the filename and path of the missing bitmap. In this situation you must either close the drawing *without* saving it and put the bitmap back in the original place before reopening the Draw document, or you must re-ipmort the bitmap from a new location and save the Drawing again.
