The mail file template will be upgraded programmaticaly under conditions in a second step. The users archive settings in R5 is : - Archive doc not modified after 30 days, - Archive doc not accessed after 30 days, - ArchivePath = "achive\a_[USER].nsf", - ArchiveServer = "" (local), - ArchiveLog = "Yes" - ArchiveLogDbPaTh = "archive\l_[USER].nsf", - etc ... After upgrading only the Notes client to 6.01 CF1, the "Archive Profile" does not change until the user use the archive. (checked with NotesPeek). I want to set the archive settings automaticaly for my users, in order to have just one private policy archive settings. I can't do this using R6 Policies from my Domino server. I do this programmaticaly with a LotusScript launched on the PostOpen of the database scripts. My script is launched the first time the user connects to his mail file with R6 client and before his first manual archive in R6. My script is : Function reInitArchPolicy( db As NotesDatabase ) As Integer result = False Dim archProfile As NotesDocument Set archProfile = db.GetProfileDocument( "archive profile" ) If Not archProfile.IsNewNote Then 'R5 setings backup archiveLog = archProfile.ArchiveLog(0) archiveLogDbPath = archProfile.ArchiveLogDbPath(0) archivePath = archProfile.ArchivePath(0) modifiedLife = archProfile.Modified

Our users archive their email to a network share that is not error reading on the Domino server. Recently some users when they click on Tools and Archive Settings, they get the error "Server Error: Entry not found in index". If they try to use any of the archive options unders "Action", such as "Archive Now", they are asked if want to go ahead but then they get the same error. Thery cannot open the Archive log either. I can open their archivee from the network driver where they are stored so the archive file is still error reading archiving OK but you can't archive any other mail. Some users can access it exactly the same way as before. I did try updall on one of the affected files, I had to run it from the server tasks as I can't get the server console to run. Is there anything you can suggest please? Many thanks 0 Question by:JB123456 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 18 Best Solution bymarilyng Can you be more specific? which profile did you delete? Have you checked your client's permissions to access this server? Do they have the required drive mapping etc. to access their archive? I assume they have manager access in ACL of their own respective archives? Can they read their own archives? Copy documents from mailfile to archive? 0 LVL 63 Overall: Level 63 Lotus IBM 28 Message Expert Comment by:SysExpert2006-07-19 In addition, this may be network related. Check ping and DNS from a client machine with issues. As shuboarder mentioned, if there were any ACL changes ame changes or similar, then these could be problematic. I hope this helps ! 0 Message Author Comment by:JB1234562006-07-20 Thanks for the suggestions. In answer to your questions Ha

By executing such a profile the archiving process is started. Such an archiving profile could contain the following information: WHAT: Mailbox p.berten@company.com WHENCE: Exchange server EXCHANGE01 WHERE (Target archive in MailStore Server): peter.berten SCOPE: All folders except drafts DELETION RULE: Delete all archived emails from the Microsoft Exchange mailbox that are older than 3 months. Creating an Archiving Profile To create a new archiving profile proceed as follows: Start the MailStore Client and click on Archive Email to create and execute an archiving profile. In the Create Profile section of the application window, select the source from which the emails should be archived (e.g. Microsoft Outlook). A wizard opens. During the first steps of the wizard, several different settings can be specified for the archiving profile. These include the selection of folders (e.g. "Inbox") or deletion rules (by default, no emails are deleted). If you are logged on as MailStore Server administrator, you will be prompted for the target archive (user archive), in which the emails should be stored. If logged on as a regular user, the corresponding user archive will be used automatically. In the last step, a name for the archiving profile can be specified. Archiving profiles of type E-mail Server provide an option to configure the automatic execution from here as well. After clicking Finish, the archiving profile will be listed under Saved Profiles and can be run immediately, if desired. Please note: Only MailStore Server administrators can archive emails into a ta
