The boot is stuck with below error reading bananapi/uimage error reading cluster Unable to read file bananpi/uImage I can see red LED on Can someone please help me boot the pi? Replaced it with a micro SD with adapter and repeated the steps. I can now boot to the point where it prompts me username and password. So cluster error is due to the SD card. took a look into: 1. freebsd manpage for gpart 2. freebsd manpage for mount_msdos 3. source code /usr/src/u-boot-sunxi/fs/fat/fat.c where "Error reading cluster" exists: if (get_cluster(mydata, curclust, buffer, (int)actsize) != 0) { printf("Error reading cluster\n"); return -1; } Then I've tried different combinations, like: gpart add -b 1m -s 64m -t fat16 md0 newfs_msdos -F 16 /dev/md0s1 gpart add -b 1m -s 64m -t '\!12' md0 newfs_msdos -F 16 /dev/md0s1 gpart add -b 1m -s 64m -t '\!14' md0 newfs_msdos -F 16 /dev/md0s1 And still getting "Error reading cluster" on http://forum.lemaker.org/thread-10047-1-1.html kernel file. I've compared file on SD card and compiled one and they are match (as diff is not giving any output). I've also checked fragmentation and kernel file is one piece.. One of the clusters on my hard drive appears to be irreperably damaged. Sometimes the hard drive will just crash for no reason and make a kind of strangled, raspy-type noise from which I have to reboot. I've tried running Norton Disk Doctor but when it gets to the bad cluster it tries to relocate it, without success, and the drive crashes again. The error reading cluster same problem occurs when defragmenting. The same cluster causes an error and the drive crashes. Is there any way I can isolate this cluster so that it causes no more problems? As you can imagine, not knowing when the drive is going to crash is very annoying, especially if I'm in the middle of a large download or burning a CD. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I doubt it would help but the cluster is #1406566. Chkdsk will then shedule a disk scan on the next reboot which will mark the bad sector and recover any usable information on it. I think you can do the same thing with Scandisk in 9x/ME, but it's so long since I used it I really don't remember - hopefully someone else can help. If that doesn't do the trick, you should download the drive manufacturers diagnostic/repair utility. It may be necessa
