I was getting an "Error reading configuration file" from Pando when trying to install the trial. It turned out it was my malware blocker, in this case BlueCoat K9 Web Protection. Note that's not AV, it's a pure URL filtering product. It categorized the link cdn.pandonetworks.com/pando/pmb/win/win.ini as "Spyware/Malware Sources" The solution in my case was to set K9 to "Monitor Only", install lotro, then set it back to protect me. The categorization is correct - as Pando is P2P, I'm sure an amount of spyware/malware is distributed across it. Just a matter of manually allowing this install to go through before clamping down again. Jul 13 2010,04:34 PM #2 cedwin View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Senior

Sometimes, I shut down the pc before closing foobar, and next time I try to open https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?343957-quot-Error-reading-configuration-file-quot-SOLVED! it I get this issue (not sure how connected the error and shutting down the pc before closing foobar are, but that's how it seems to me):"Error reading theme file (Unsupported format or corrupted file).Continue?"After I click "OK", I get this:"Error reading configuration file (Unsupported format or corrupted file (header mismatch)). Continue?"I hit "OK" again, and then foobar starts, but without having the theme I had https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,73189.0.html chosen for it, so I have to set up the theme all over again. I also have to fill up the media library too, because now it's empty. I would really love it if foobar stopped having this behaviour, even if I shut down my pc that way.How can I get rid of this issue, please? Thanks. pano Newbie Joined: 09 March, 2006 Posts: 18 Logged Error reading configuration/theme file Reply #1 – 06 July, 2009, 07:08:58 AM I second that: happened to me six or seven times in the last few weeks. Very annoying... Even more so as I did not find a component that is able to do a quick backup of the %appdata%\foobar folder. For a second I thought that 'foo_jesus' would do this, but apparently not...So: Is there any way to avoid this reset, or a way to automatically back up the config to prepare against the reset? (without third-party software, that is)? Thanks in advance, pano lokioki Full Member Joined: 16 December, 2008 Posts: 181 Logged Error reading configuration/theme file Reply #2 – 06 July, 2009, 08:35:54 AM Happens to me also. novembre Full Member Joined: 06 December, 2008 Posts: 13
