I am trying to store the username and password in the registry using the (aspnet_setreg.exe) tool, and then add registry pointers in the web.config file

You should make sure the ASP.NET account running your app pool has appropriate access rights for expected registry key. If the access rights is insufficient, you can run RegEdit32.exe tool to grant permissions. Since you did not paste related code, I am not sure how your app read config files and what's actually included in your config files. Did you use Aspnet_setreg.exe utility to encrypt credentials and session state connection strings? If did, related sensitive info will be stored in registry. You can re

I'm reading through the instructions it says to create an asp.net impersonation account but it doesn't give any details on how (because apparently it's different for each version of Windows). Does anyone know how to create something like this so I can get this app up and running? Sorry, I'm a little vague.
