They may not be in mp3 format, not encoded properly, or are corrupted. If your player can read them, instead of burning an audio CD, try data CD. And whenever I try to copy it using Nero or DVD Shrink, it will get an error saying: "Error reading data" and "Reading disk failed". This sometimes error reading data happens around 3%, sometimes around 65%, and sometimes at 98%. There aren't any significant scratches on the DVD, in fact I know my dad was able to make copies of the same one. I was able to create an MP4 of the DVD using Cucusoft iPod to DVD converter, so it can obviously read the whole thing sometimes. I'd just burn the mp4, but I can't figure out how to convert it back into *.VOB, while still keeping any semblance of quality. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is and how to fix it? Maybe your DVD is corrupted and the data can not be readed. You can try the "Bad CD Repair Pro". It allows to copy files from bad CD or HDD. If your text or mp3 or any other type of file is corrupted then use Bad CD Repair to save it. You can download it from http://www.brothersoft.com/bad-cd-repair... It's free! Good luck! Are there any known issues with this combination? While creating the image file in Nero, for some reason or another the writing image speed keeps fluctuating between 6MB/sec and 200KB/s. Sometimes Nero will be able to regain speed but this is not always the case, cause it happends that sometimes once it drops down to 200KB the error 'Error reading data' comes up. I also tried burning it 'on the fly' but with no success, most probably due to the same problem mentioned above while reading the source disk. Given that the source disk is also a copy created with XCOPY Xpress, could it be caused due to poor burning from XCOPY XPress's side? I never had problems with CD-Rs. Do you think a better program exists other than Nero 6 for DVD burning? I have a 2.4GZ pentium running under under windows xp with 512MB of ram. Check that you are not running any process and memory hungry applications at the same time. You might check the Nero website and see if the FAQ or forum covers this. 08-05-04,11:42 PM #3 r_abela Member Join Date Feb 2001 Posts 108 It must be a mem
