fired-off 12 parallel query slaves (parallel query server P012). What causes this ORA-01115 error in automatic parallel query? When I manually reduce the parallelism, it runs fine! Answer: The docs note this about the ORA-01115 error, the ORA-01115 is a transient I/O error not related to block corruption: ORA-01115: IO error reading block from file string (block # string) Cause: Device on which the file resides is probably offlineAction: Restore access to the device Using 12 parallel query slaves probably not optimal for an 8 CPU server, and Oracle may have over-estimated the optimal degree of parallelism. Here are the rules I use for optimizing the degree of parallelism. Also note that using parallel automatic tuning can HURT your performance, and I prefer to set parallelism manually, on a case-by-case basis. I suspect that your error is caused by firing off too many parallel query slaves, but you should also check for a bug on MOSC. You can pinpoint the tablespace and segment for an ORA-01444 error by plugging-in the file_id and block_id into this query on dba_extents: select owner,tablespace_name, segment_type, segment_name from d

I need some more information. Summonee commented Jan 30, 2015 Thank you for replying. I am using 3.0 and I have been for a long time. I didn't change anything, other than write a few posts, and Bundler works fine. I hope this helps. And a side note, thank you for this awesome thing you've created. This is from the 0.8.0 release version? Shortly after the release I changed quartz to share file descriptors between the read and write btree objects for a WritableDatabase (before it needed 10, now "only" 5). So which version this is with is worth double checking. > Our current train error reading block of thought is that we're just running out of file handles. > So we're going to play with "ulimit". Also, we're going to try trapping > this "Bad file descriptor" error and re-open our WritableDatabase. I don't quite see why you'd get "got end of file" though. If the descriptor is bad (-1 is most likely) the return value should be -1 (and errno should be EBADF) but "got end of file" means read returned 0. And besides, if open returns -1, this should cause an exception. Hmm, or perhaps the Java wrappers are somehow causing something unfortunate to happen in this situation. It'd be interesting to see what the fd is. Try adding it to the exception messages - in backends/quartz/btree.cc, add: message += " (fd = " + om_tostring(handle) + ")"; Add it just before the throw here in write_block(): if (errno == EINTR) continue; string message = "Error reading block " + om_tostring(n) + ": "; message += strerror(errno); throw Xapian::Database

Good morning. I have a folder with a bunch of dynamic blocks that I have been using for ages, all of a sudden yesterday, when I try to insert a block, I get a popup error message that reads "ERROR READING FILE" I am running acad2013. I have checked the link to the folder in the file path. I have restored the folder to a previous version when they were working. I tried opening the blocks as a drawing from windows explorer, and get the same message. I tried to copy the dynamic block to a new drawing and save it, but it loses the dynamic function. None of these worked. one of the other guys in the department is getting the following in his command line ** File L:\DWG_Files\1_MISC\2010DYNAMIC ANNOTATIVE BLOCKS\CMU+BRICK.dwg was created by an incompatible versionof AutoCAD *Invalid* This seems strange as the blocks were not altered, and we are using the same version of autocad, so it is not like we are trying to open a acad2013 file with acad2010. Any insight would be great as I do not want to re do all of the blocks thanks Reply With Quote 31st Oct 201303:05 pm #2 Barneel View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Senior Member Discipline Electro/Mech Barneel's Discipline Details OccupationDesign Engineer DisciplineElectro/Mech Using Electrical 2014 Join Date Sep 2013 Posts 123 Sounds... spooky.
