Everything was working great until this morning. I can receive mail but when I send mail it doesn't go and I get the following message. "Error reading from network. Cause: Connection closed by foreign host" I checked everything I think of and I don't know what the problem is. I have Eudora running https://groups.google.com/d/topic/comp.mail.eudora.ms-windows/KzD5LJcl3AE on another PC and I can send mail fine with the same mail settings so it looks like my trouble is machine specific. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks! artmanphoto View Public Profile Visit artmanphoto's homepage! Or is it just today? Is the other PC on the same ethernet connection (ISP)? CyberSmurf View Public Profile Visit CyberSmurf's homepage! This problem has gone away as of late this afternoon. I don't have a clue why is happened and why it fixed itself. Thanks for your help though. artmanphoto View Public Profile Visit artmanphoto's homepage! My error reading from internet provider is Clearnet. For some reason, in the last 24 hours I haven't been able to send emails; I can connect to the internet OK, and I can download new mail, but when I try to upload emails I get the error message: "Error reading from network. Cause:Connection closed by foreign host (0)." I have checked with Clearnet and they tell me that my access to their server is working fine. They suggest it is something to do with my Eudora setup. I have reloaded the latest edition of Eudora, but it hasn't fixed the problem. I have checked my settings and the SMTP server is set to smtp.clear.net.nz - as normal! Help! How can I fix the problem? 22-05-2010,09:00 AM #2 Speedy Gonzales View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Member Join Date Dec 2004 Location NZ Posts 44,416 Re: Sending emails from Eudora This may or may not help. Are you on a LAN or on a private dial-up connection? Does it happen at random, or is there any kind of "system"? Could be POP server too busy. If it is in the house, ask the network admin to look at server logs for failed connections. So fairly sure it only happens with Eudora but searching their site failed me. A general search on that error in Google brings up far too many hits to go thru and nearly none or none with Eudora too so that is why I am asking here. It seems to happen twice per email address {three} and then I get the mail anyway, just annoying.
