Error Reading From Server Cvs
read-cvsignore? Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] I think those messages are normal for some typical situations when CVSNT is running properly. Do check the AV software like Bo suggests, also check for firewall software(???). Just a thought. Uninstalling, rebooting and then installing 1.8.15 or earlier does not help, but machines using 1.8.15 or earlier (1.8.13, 1.8.11 and 1.8.8 also tried) have no problems. This only happens when accessing a remote repository. Using TCVS 1.8.21 from the server itself, using it's external name, fails. https://sourceforge.net/p/tortoisecvs/bugs/901/ Using "localhost" for server name works. Server is a CVSNT 2.5.02. All operating systems are Windows XP Pro. Discussion Torsten Martinsen - 2005-09-15 Logged In: YES user_id=382855 I believe the cause of this problem is unrelated to TortoiseCVS. Just yesterday I did a checkout using :sspi: with 1.8.21. http://www.march-hare.com/cvspro/faq/faq3.asp#3f lists some possible reasons for the "Error reading from server

It accepted the connection, but the connection error reading was then immediatly closed, which implies that the CVS server wasn't run. Most likely you either have the path to CVS wrong in your xinetd.conf or you have some kind of firewall software (like tcp wrappers) that's denying access. Check your syslog for error error reading from messages from xinetd. -Larry Jones The living dead don't NEED to solve word problems. -- Calvin reply via email to [Prev in Thread] Current Thread [Next in Thread] cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer, Manolo, 2003/03/16 Re: cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer, Larry Jones<= Re: cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer, Manolo, 2003/03/16 Re: cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer, Manolo, 2003/03/17 Prev by Date: cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer Next by Date: setgid failed: Operation not permitted Previous by thread: cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer Next by thread: Re: cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer Index(es): Date Thread
