Timeout While Reading Response From Server

I have been using this for approximately 12 months with no problems. We recently moved business locations and internet providers (our new internet provider is working fine) and now timeout while reading response from server sophos when trying to connect to the server I get the following error message: Finding Host host7.veoweb.net ... Connecting to 64.246.56.9:21 Connected to 64.246.56.9:21 in 0.000000 seconds, Waiting for Server Response Error reading response from server. Connection closed by remote host. Host type (1): Automatic Detect I have emailed veoweb technical support various times over several days with NO reply at all. The only variable would be our change in internet provider or if veoweb has changed something on their end. Ipswitch has a field to give the host name/address, username and password for connection, but shouldn't I also have to give the nameservers somewhere? I have reinstalled Ipswitch and reset the host name/address, username and password with no effect. I am new to this and any help would be greatly appreciated!! I am using Ipswitch WSFTP Professional to connect to their server. It is set to auto detect yet http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=488698 i keep getting the error "Error reading response from the server. Connection closed by remote server". Yet works fine connection from my Mac using Transmit with Auto Detect. Any help would be very much appreciated.CheersEfraim Top Profile Reply with quote jdratlif Post subject: Re: Error reading response from serverPostPosted: 2009-05-19 14:26 Offline 226 Transfer OK Joined: 2008-12-30 10:30 Posts: 392 First name: https://forum.filezilla-project.org/viewtopic.php?t=11705 John Last name: Ratliff Location: In a small white padded room. Don't know much about the server, but why not change your client from autodetect to something else. What are your choices? Have you considered trying FileZilla client? It works pretty well. _________________http://jdrrant.blogspot.com/ - CODEpendent Blog Top Profile Reply with quote Display posts from previous: All posts1 day7 days2 weeks1 month3 months6 months1 yearSort by AuthorPost timeSubject AscendingDescending Post new topic Reply to topic Page 1 of 1 [ 2 posts ] Board index » General » FileZilla Server Support All times are UTC Who is online Users browsing this forum: mmisysadmin and 3 guests You cannot post new topics in this forumYou cannot reply to topics in this forumYou cannot edit your posts in this forumYou cannot delete your posts in this forumYou cannot post attachments in this forum Search for: Jump to: Select a forum ------------------ Announcements News General General Discussion FileZilla Client Support FileZilla Server Support Development FileZilla and FileZilla Server Development libfilezilla Off-Topic All things HTML Off-Topic Powered by phpBB Forum Software © phpBB Limited
hair out here. I haven't changed my DNSs with my registrar yet, so I'm using IPs still. I've tried all my different IPs, ports, usernames, and a slew of other options and have yet to http://www.vpshostingforum.com/ftping-using-wsftp-pro-t6126.html have been able to successfully login to FTP.Can anyone point me to what settings/info I need to enter using WSFTP to connect to my site? I have created an account, have gave it SSH access, but nothing. I keep https://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/53073-error-reading-response:-missing-prtg getting the message "SSH Transport Closed" when trying to login using its credentials, SFTP/SSH server type, and port 8888. Are these settings correct? Cayal Posts: 30Joined: Tue Jan 30, 2007 6:24 pm » Sat Aug 21, 2010 2:05 pm error reading Port 8888 at 2012S is used for indirect root logins. In other words, by using your account login user/pass and doing "su -" to root. Normal ftp logins should be working on port 21. We do know this error message and we can explain it for vmware and soap, but we can't explain it for wmi. Is it maybe possible that your wmi sensors do show a different error message? Please install dotNet 3.5 next to dotNet 4.0 and install the windows updates for the dotNet Frameworks. Does it work now? If this doesn't help please open a command prompt and change the working directory to the "sensor system" directory within the prtg installation directory. Then run the following command and send the result to our support team. SipOptionsPingSensor.exe -ip=[ip] -port=[port] -user=[username] -pw=[password] -timeout=5 -retry=5 Please replace the placeholders in []. (will run the command and send the results to the support team when I have updated and started autodiscovery again, i removed all autodisc so we won't get bogus alarms all the time) Add comment Created on Jun 5, 2013 7:28
