Solved Backup Exec Access Denied Posted on 2010-12-10 Storage Software Storage 1 Verified Solution 5 Comments 1,316 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-10 Hello, A few days ago I started receiving errors on my usual backups. https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Backup-Exec/Backup-Exec-2012-Errors-out-of-the-blue-on-Hyper-V-backups/td-p/682519 I am running Veritas Backup Exec 9 with 1 remote agent. It backs up the server that it is running on but errors when it tries to backup the remote server. The error reads Access Denied. The log reads Access is denied. Security errors. Unable to initialize Remote Agent for Windows Servers – performing standard backup. It then lists many files saying Error reading security data stream and then lists https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26671016/Backup-Exec-Access-Denied.html the file again saying Access Denied. The host server is running Windows 2000 server. Both servers are file servers, no exchange. Nothing was changed before this started happening. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you 0 Question by:kasdas Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 31 Active 3 days ago Best Solution byRodney Barnhardt Can you UNC path to the server and open files from the media server? Have you verified the remote agent is running on the server in question? These should also be running under the local system account.
