I had installed Studio Deluxe Version 8 with the blueBOX attached on my old computer. As I need to import analogue input from my camcorder I required the blueBOX to be fitted on my new computer, I have deinstalled the Evesham supplied Pinnacle software using ‘Add or Remove Programmes’. Not all the Pinnacle folders were deleted and so I did this manually. After I fitted the hardware I ran the Studio Deluxe setup. 60% through the setup I received 2 messages ‘Error reading software license information’. I completed the installation, but cannot open the Pinnacle Studio program as I get the message ‘Problem with Studio 8 license installation. Please install Studio 8 to resolve the problem’. I have repeated the installation process a number of times without success. I have also been to the Pinnacle support web site and have downloaded and installed ‘regfix2.zip’ as well as ‘RegDelete’. Each time I have tried to reload the program I still get the same error messages and inability to open Pinnacle Studio. I suspect there is some legacy info with the windows registry. Is there a manually way of removing all reference to Pinnacle using ‘regedit.exe’? What is the difference between Studio Deluxe Version 8 and the SE version and can I input analogue data on the latter? Clearly I would prefer to use the Studio version. Grateful for some advice on how I can overcome this installation difficulty. Found that we had some old license files still located in the MyFile folder. Once we deleted the old license files the issue was resolved. Hope this helps. Go to the full post
Ken Hafermann Members #1 Ken Hafermann error reading software 10 posts Posted 19 October 2015 - 03:02 PM Hello all, We have plaitnum XenDesktop 7.6 licensing (with active SA) and decided to install AppDNA. During our installation, while specifying our licensing server we receive an error stating: "Failed to perform the licensing Failed to read the license information due to error: There was an error reading the license entitlements. Ensure that the licenses are node locked to this machine name" "%ourappdnaserver%"." I simply can't find any documentation on this error. There are no corresponding event id's on the license server that I can find. All the documentaiton I found in regards to installing the product simply states "input your license server name and port and click next". Any failures on system check, see a certain article, but none of the licensing troubleshooting applies to this error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 474-372007-1900703 Back to top Jani Anttila Members #2 Jani Anttila 51 posts Posted 19 October 2015 - 04:38 PM I have never seen this kind of error. You mention "ourappdnaserver", which raises a question: Did you select "Activate with XenDesktop platinum licenses" during confiby Tableau. We continue to make it available because the information is still valuable, but some steps may vary due to product changes. When opening Tableau Desktop or Tableau Reader, you may see an “Unable to add license” error message. (Although you do not need a license key to use Tableau Reader, a key is packaged with your Tableau Reader installation.)In some cases, this error message displays when this key cannot be read or accessed by FLEXnet Licensing Service. To resolve this error, perform the following solutions in the order listed below. Solution 1: Verify the date and timeVerify the date and time on your machine is correct. If the clock on your machine is set to a date earlier than current date, the Tableau product cannot be activated. Solution 2: Verify FLEXnet Licensing Service has startedIf the date and time on your machine’s clock is correct, verify the FLEXnet Licensing Service is running. To check the status of the FLEXnet Licensing Service, you must launch the Windows services console. Step 1 Click the Start button and select All Programs > Accessories > Run. Step 2 Type services.msc and click OK. Step 3 Verify that FLEXnet Licensing Service is listed as “Started” in the Status column. If FLEXnet is not listed as “Started”, right-click the name and then select Start. Step 4 Launch Tableau Desktop or Tableau Reader. Solution 3: Repair trusted storageIf the FLEXnet Licensing Service is running, the Tableau product key may be corrupted. In this case, you may need to repair the key information. Trusted storage is the location where the key information for Tableau is saved. Step 1 All versions of Tableau Reader and Tableau Desktop 7.0 and earlier: Download and extract the utility from the Customer Activation Utility article. Tableau Desktop 8.0: Proceed to the next step. The utility comes with Tableau 8.0 Desktop and is installed in the bin folder. For example: Program Files (x86)\Tableau 8.0\bin\custactutil.exe Step 2 Click the Start button, and select All Programs > Accessories. Right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator. Step 3 In the Command Prompt, change the directory to where the activation utility is located and run the custactutil –localrepair command. For example, type following commands: cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tableau [version]\bin" custactutil –localrepair Note: Replace [version] with the version of Tableau Desktop or Reader that you have install
