Is this Apache timing out the request related to its 5 min TimeOut value in the httpd.conf? (Meaning it does not recieve a response from the remote server in 5 min.) Or is this simply a response from the remote server saying that it cannot handle the connection? Apache quickly runs out of its MaxClients around the time I see this error. Quick example of Proxy entry: ProxyPass /boom/ga https://super-load1-ga.test.com ProxyPassReverse /boom/ga https://super-load1-ga.test.com apache-2.2 proxy share|improve this question edited Dec 14 '11 at 8:02 splattne 23.8k1686138 asked May 20 '11 at 22:37 roacha 97128 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 15 down vote You increase the timeout in the ProxyPass directive: ProxyPass /boom/ga https://super-load1-ga.test.com connectiontimeout=300 timeout=300 Timeout values are in seconds. share|improve this answer answered Oct 14 '11 at 7:38 uıƃʎɹuɯ lǝıuɐp 25126 1 If you're not already defining the ProxyPass timeout argument, your global Timeout value will be used. I run shellinabox on centos6 with the epel version.....by the way, now the middle clic to paste is working really well :)

Search Why am I getting errors with my Apache proxy and Splunk configuration running on the same server? 0 I have an Apache proxy running on the same server (CentOS 6) as Splunk (v 6.1.4). My proxy config looks like: ProxyPass /splunk http://127.0.0.1:8001/splunk ProxyPassReverse /splunk http://127.0.0.1:8001/splunk Splunk is running on port 8001 because something else is already running on port 8000. In my /opt/splunk/etc/system/local/web.conf I have: httpport = 8001 root_endpoint = /splunk enableSplunkWebSSL = True tools.proxy.on = True (I have tried both True and False here) trustedIP=127.0.0.1 After I restart both Apache and Splunk, I get the following in my browser: Proxy Error The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /splunk. Reason: Error reading from remote server In my logs I am getting the following: (104)Connection reset by peer: proxy: error reading status line from remote server 127.0.0.1 proxy: Error reading from remote server returned by /splunk I have port 8001 open through IP tables. I have been following the documentation from the Splunk but nothing seems to be working.
