error sometimes shows up when an application is auto-loaded (Setting in registry) magiciso virtual cd/dvd manager error reading trayicon1 windows 7 at boot time. Error reports on the web go back several years, all of them by users, not developers, although it is mentioned that Delphi is involved. I did not find articles with a solution for Delphi, except for 1) launching the application http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-update/error-reading-trayicon1-visible-canot-create/9855910d-1653-45bb-bc08-4ca15844f134 by a link in the startupfolder 2) using a startup-manager to delay the launch of the app 3) including a splash screen as to delay the install of the icon. Has a better fix been found? I get Error Reading TrayIcon1-> Visible: Cannot Create System Shell Notification Icon, which is supposed to only occur on bootup of windows but I get this when trying to start G4FON. Is it telling me it doesn't want to work on the 64 bit? I know it works on 32, I'v used it. AA9G, Feb 6, 2015 #1 KA9JLM Premium Subscriber QRZ Page Does it do the same if you run as administrator ? One thing you could try is to put the installer in a Directory under the root drive. The drive needs to be local. Normally the error you get on 7 64 with a 32 bit program is not the error that you are getting. Your error sounds like more of a Permissions problem. You may be able to try compatible mode, using a pif file. I have not used that software, but it should not be to hard to figure out. Can it be ran from a Command line ? In a Shell ? I may have to install in on my Win7 Pro debug machine, If you do not get it working. Just for test. But I think you can make it work, If you try a few tweaks. You can always boot the machine up from a XP live boot disk. It is older software, but looks like fun. If you don't know code and ever want to give it a go, this is the program, or even if you want to increase speed and learn under harsh simulated conditions, it can give you noise, low S/N, QRM. It's great software. AA9G, Feb 6, 2015 #7 KA9JLM Premium Subscriber QRZ Pa
