Error Reading Trayicon Clk - Visible
on my computer to day was: Text version: Kvm-221verb---------------------------Error reading TrayIcon1->Visible: Cannot create shell notification icon. I had some time to search for the error error reading trayicon1 windows 7 (couldn't open VS since I was installing the new Resharper EAP Build). error reading trayicon1- visible cannot create system shell notification icon So I searched for what it means. Kvm-221verb (or actually "KVM-221 Ver B Utility")- is a program I have magiciso virtual cd/dvd manager error reading trayicon1 windows 7 installed which helps with an AB switch I have (it allows me to listen to my music from one computer while still working with another and when I want to switch the sound to the other computer). But the error doesn't come from that program - it comes from Windows7 system. The system is trying to tell us (in it's illiterate way) that our utility tried to load prematurely - before there was a system tray. So what do we do? Well there are many options, I choose a nice little program called Startup Delayer that is easy to work. You simply find the problematic program in their list: Double Click on the line: And click Save. Closing the window you will get this warning: Click Yes Click Invisible. That's it next time you start your computer the program will be delayed for 1 minute - more than enough time! I get Error Reading TrayIcon1-> Visible: Cannot Create System Shell Notification Icon, which is supposed to only occur on bootup of windows but I get this when trying to start G4FON. Is it telling me it doesn't want to work on the 64 bit? I know it works on 32, I'v used it. AA9G, Feb 6, 2015 #1 KA9JLM Premium Subscriber QRZ Page Does it do the same if you run as administrator ? The drive needs to be local. Normally the error you get on 7 64 with a 32 bit program is not the error that you are getting. Your error sounds like more of a Permissions problem. You may be able to try compatible mode, using a pif file. I have not used that software, but it should not be to hard to figure out. Can it be ran from a Command line ? In a Shell ? I may have to install in on my Win7 Pro debug machine, If you do not get it working. Just for test. But I think you can make it work, If you try a few tweaks. You can always boot the machine up from a XP live boot disk. It is older software, but looks like fun. Good Luck 73 KA9JLM, Feb 6, 2015 #6 AA9G Ham Member QRZ Page Don, I re-installed it and installed it under C:\G4FON etc and that did the trick. Thanks! If you don't know code and ever want to give it a go, this is the program, or even if you want to increase speed and learn under harsh simulated conditions, it can give you noise, low S/N, QRM. It

Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement txoldier Thread Starter Joined: Jul 2, 2008 Messages: 10 Hi I have a problem with my computer. When I start my computer, I get an error message that reads: "Cannot Create Shell Notification System Icon" I dont know what is it, I think that has something to do with the icons on the toolbar, in fact, when my computer starts with that message, quite icons in toolbar disappear. I tried to restore system and nothing happens, except that the all icons appear again, but when I restart the computer they disappear again. I have already pass all antivirus and all programs related to cleaning, everything Someone knows how to solve this problem? Sorry for my English, thanks Properties of my system : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.67Ghz, 4 Gb RAM, Windows XP Home Edition, SP 3 PD : some time ago I wrote a post in which I explained another mistake but in the end I did all I could but in the end not fix Sorry for my English again, thank you before hand txoldier, Jul 24, 2008 #1 Sponsor Elvandil Joined: Aug 1, 2003 Messages: 51,988 Do you have SP2 or SP3 installed? Are you missing any icons in the tray when you see this message? I solved this problem for a couple of programs by delaying their startup by a few seconds so that explorer (and my theming program) would be stable before the tray icon got added: Startup Delayer The tray icons caused a lot of problems in XP "Gold", but changes were made in their implementation in the SP's and most problems disappeared.
