on my computer to day was: Text version: Kvm-221verb---------------------------Error reading TrayIcon1->Visible: Cannot create shell notification icon. I had some time to search for the error (couldn't open VS since I was installing the new Resharper error reading trayicon1 windows 7 EAP Build). So I searched for what it means. my music from one computer while still working with another and when I want to switch the sound to the other computer). But the error doesn't come from that program - it comes from Windows7 system. The system is trying to tell us (in it's illiterate way) that our utility tried to load prematurely - before there was a system tray. So what do we do? Well there are many options, I choose a nice little program called Startup Delayer that is easy to work. You simply find the problematic program in their list: Double Click on the line: And click Save. Closing the window you will get this warning: Click Yes Click Invisible. That's it next time you start your computer the program will be delayed for 1 minute - more than enough time! Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement txoldier Thread Starter Joined: Jul 2, 2008 Messages: 10 Hi I have a problem with my computer. When I start my computer, I get an error message that reads: "Cannot Create Shell Notification System Icon" I donÂ’t know what is it, I think that has something to do with the icons on the toolbar, in fact, when my computer starts with that message, quite icons in toolbar disappear. I tried to restore system and nothing happens, except that the all icons appear again, but when I restart the computer they disappear again. I have already pass all antivirus and all programs related to cleaning, everythingÂ… Someone knows how to solve this problem? Sorry for my English, thanks Properties of my system : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.67Ghz, 4 Gb RAM, Windows XP Home Edition, SP 3 PD : some time ago I wrote a post in which I explained another mistake but in the end I did all I could but in the end not fix Sorry for my English again, thank you before hand txoldier, Jul 24, 2008 #1 Sponsor Elvandil Joined: Aug 1, 2003 Messages: 51,988 Do you have SP2 or SP3 installed? Are you missing any icons in the tray when you see this message? I solved this problem for a couple of programs by delaying their startup by a few seconds so that explorer (and my theming program) would be stable before the tray icon got added: Startup Delayer The tray icons caused a lot of problems in XP "Gold", but changes were made in their implementation in the SP's and most problems disappeared.
