Class Not Registered error for ffdshow.ax Started by Guest_maxstone1_* , Jan 13 2007 06:54 PM Please log in to reply 1 reply to this topic #1 Guest_maxstone1_* Guest_maxstone1_* Guests Posted 13 January 2007 - 06:54 PM Okay, the simple version of the story is I've upgraded one of my computers to ZP 5.0 and ran the install center..during the running of the install center I got a "class not registered" error for the file ffdshow.ax ...I chose ignore and went on thinking all is well because I could regsvr and re-install. Nope..now my DirectX Diag is telling me it cannot get any DirectShow information, and RegSvr will not register the file with the same error as the installer. I've rolled-back, uninstalled, re-installed, cleaned up directories...manually replaced files and re-installed DX...I'm hoping someone has an answer here to keep me from having to do a re-install of XP, which the main user of the computer is hesitant to do. If not, try the clean install section of the media setup guide (link below).
