There are lots of other people that do that anyway, so Microsoft stays well-informed of their problems without error report you and I volunteering our time to help them out. Good news! You don't have to do that any longer. Here's how to disable it: 1. Click Start 2. Right-click on My Computer and choose Properties 3. Click the “Advanced” tab 4. Click the “Error Reporting” button 5. Check “Disable error reporting”, but also check “But notify me when critical errors windows error reporting occur” Click OK twice, and don’t be bothered by that error message any more! Oh, did I mention that the animal guy brought a hyperactive chimpanzee with him? You can get my computer tips by email, or by RSS. (what is RSS?)

Here's an unrelated question: Is there a way to configure the start up menu so that fewer processes are constantly running in the background? I mean are they all necessary? Surely they slow down the computer? Marianne beth pulsipher June 23rd, 2008 than
