Re: Error restoring snapshot continuum Jan 23, 2012 12:38 PM (in response to timofcourse) that sounds like the VM is coming from ESXi ???to help you we need:the vmware.logsa list of files in the directory of the VMthe vmsd-filethe vmx-fileplease zip that altogether into a single archive and attach it to your next post Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 2. Re: Error restoring snapshot timofcourse Jan 23, 2012 12:47 PM (in response to continuum) Thats correct. We copy ESXi 5 images via SCP and run them in Workstation. Prior to Workstation v8/ESXi5 we were able to do this and use snapshots all the time without issue. Is that no longer the case?I should also mention that I am able to make a linked clone from the snapshot. Not sure if that helps.Attached are the requested files.Thanks. [FIELD_NAME]] I'm sure I'm just doing something stupid, but I can't figure out what. Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong? Here is my basic workflow: (using ES 1.3.2 -- Server1 and Server2 are separate ES clusters) 1. Create fs snapshot repository on Server1 2. Create snapshot of index 'x' on Server1 3. Create fs snapshot repository on Server2 4. Copy files from Server1 repository to Server2 repository 5. Close index on Server2 6. Restore snapshot on Server2 Step 6 always fails for me with the "unexpected token" https://communities.vmware.com/thread/344020?start=0&tstart=0 error.
