Solved!I edited the file below as root like the instructions in the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Su … ibernation/etc/default/grubGRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="resume=/dev/sda3"After I run sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfgThe /dev/sda3 is my swap partition now I can hibernate! I notice this error during the boot up process but note that hibernation actually works as expected. You may pass a parameter to the kernel on https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=182392 grub, but it has a fallback to whatever swap you have available, that's why it works. It's safe to ignore the message. In my case, it complains that I don't have a swap partition, but I don't use hibernation. Does this mean that it no longer needs to be set in "/boot/grub.cfg" ??Or is it a good idea and harmless to keep it there as the swap partition is always set in "fstab" ??I see that updating grub creates a new file and omits the resume partition and it does still work OK as mentioned.NS. A simple Linux Distro that may require that you show up wearing a tool belt.. but once running correctly will not require much maintainance......The above ERROR is a problem that has popped up with Arch installs of the grub2 booter as early as 2010. Seems to get corrected and then rears it's head again. Anyway I usually just edit the /boot/grub.cfg and never have the problem beyond 1 boot. However that is not recommended to edit that file. As I am a 20 yr linux user I will edited and hack stuff not recommend a lot.. a lot umm way too much.. There is a fix if this has happened to you.
