Smart Device Development > Visual Studio Smart Device Development – Visual Basic and C# Projects Question 0 Sign in to vote Hi all, I need to make a smart device application in C# to run under a Windows CE 5.0 or 6.0 device with .NET Compact Framework 2.0. I have Visual Studio https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/56056fe4-acf1-4821-ba3a-db321793f1d6/i-get-platform-not-found-error?forum=vssmartdevicesvbcs 2005 running on Win XP SP2 machine. I installed VS 2005 SP1. Whenever I try to create a Win CE 5.0 application, the following error message appears: "Error retrieving information from user datastore. Platform not found." followed by the message: "The project could not be opened because it refers to a device platform that does not exist in your datastore." I installed Windows CE 5.0 SDK, but didn't solve the problem. Then installed Windows Mobile Developer Resource Kit, and didn't solve the problem either. I hope I get a relyable solution to this problem. I'm stuck with it for about a month.
