Author Message 04/25/2011 13:42:52 Subject: Getting a ClassNotFoundException related to a Job class, when trigger is fired gunnarz journeyman Joined: 03/04/2011 05:44:49 onenote error retrieving list of your notebooks Messages: 18 Offline Hi, I'm using Quartz 1.8.4, and BEA WebLogic server 10.3.3.0 diablo 3 error retrieving hero list (11g). I have 2 distinct applications, each in its own EAR file, using Quartz, and deployed on the WLS. Each configure the scheduler differently, and each EAR file contains the Quartz JAR file, in its "/lib" folder. Note that I have more EAR files deployed on that WLS, but the others do https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=168233 not use Quartz, nor do they package it. With one of the EAR files, when my trigger is fired, I get a ClassNotFoundException, because it cannot seem to find the job class, that I have defined, which is packaged in a JAR file, inside the EAR file. (see the error message at the end of this post) I've attached the XML file I use to http://forums.terracotta.org/forums/posts/list/5334.page define my job, as well as the properties file I use to configure my scheduler. The AppJobStoreCMT referenced in the scheduler's properties file, really is an extension of JobStoreCMT... And as you will see, I've defined the 2 different data sources required, in the properties file, as well. They happen to be in the same DB tablespace, but are configured as separate data sources... The EAR file in question is packaged in the following way: - META-INF - APP-INF - classes - lib (contains my Quartz JAR file) - auditservices.jar (contains my job class) So, the Quartz JAR file and the JAR containing my job class are not at the same "level", in the EAR file.... Now I get the error intermittently. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But if I start my WLS and deploy my EAR file, and find that I get that ClassNotFoundException, I will always get it from then on. I'd have to re-start my WLS, and re-deploy my EAR file. If I'm "lucky" it will work, and I will not get the error, and wouldn't get it until a subsequent re-start/re-deploy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
