Hi, Job Aborts with the Fatal error message "SQLFetch: error retrieving from server bluestacks Error retrieving results from server" and the error message does not specify any SQL code. This error message is posted by DB2 API Stages being used as lookups. Unusually All the jobs in the project fail with the same reason when there is a materialized view being error retrieving information from server refreshed in the database. Given below are a few more troubleshoot steps followed 1. The jobs/lookups that fail are not related to the M.View that is being refreshed - so there are no lock/contention issues 2. Able to fetch data and query the same tables on the database server or through a db client - No Problems with the DB which impacts accessing these tables. 3. Able to initiate DB Connections from the Datastage server to the database and run queries - 4. Datastage fails to even initiate a connection on the database server, when we get this error message Env: Datastage 7.5.2 on SUSE Linux and DB2 on AIX Any idea of what the root cause may be? not found.Cause:This problem happened when there is job trying to access a table and some parallel insert / updated is being processed into the same table. https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=247138 So, in this case there is a SHARED lock applied for that particular record which is under transaction, as it was not in committed mode.Resolution:In the stage level, there is an option to set the Isolation level, which can be changed from Cursor Stability > Read Uncommitted. Setting this condition, we can http://datastagetips.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html also fetch the records which are not in the committed mode ignoring the SHARED lock processed by the record level information. This error can occur when the prompt is defined as User selects values error retrieving from from a Static List and Multiple Values is chosen for the Number of values. For such a prompt, when a user clicks on Get Values, browses for the data set to use, and selects a variable with an invalid character in the name (such as /), the error occurs. The only workaround is to change the variable name and remove the invalid character before using it in the prompt. Also checked the views and they seem fine.Is this a bug? Could I be missing something? Carlos Mon Jan 6, 2014 10:52 AM Comment Hi Carlos,Looks like you’ve run into a bug (support task 152322) we have recently discovered, the issue occurs when a Data Source has the setting of Max Rows Returned = Unlimited. We will be issuing a patch with a fix for this at the end of the week, and in the meantime there exists a workaround to this issue: Change the value of the Data Source’s “Max Rows Returned” parameter from “Unlimited” to an appropriate number, e.g. 100000 Apologies for the inconvenience caused.regards,Dave David Mon Jan 6, 2014 11:03 AM Comment (Edit) Solved Samuel Tue Jan 14, 2014 4:53 PM Comment Is the patch ready, how should we know if it is and where to find it please ? guest Fri Jan 17, 2014 7:56 PM Comment Hi,the patch will be released on Friday 31st January and you can find it at:http://www.yellowfinbi.com/yf_latestbuild.jspregards,Dave guest Mon Jan 20, 2014 9:22 AM Comment We had a similar issue after upgrade and changing the value of Max Rows Returned did indeed solve it.
