Everything was working ok about 3 days ago. Then yesterday, I started getting write errors. This is happening when I am trying to burn video_ts folders. I was able to burn 2 http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/49420-errors-writing-disks/ dvds ok but now I get this errorsense key= hardware errorsense code= 0x09,0x03spindle servo failureI have tried rebooting. I have checked to make sure all updates for Toast are run.I have tried 2 different brands of media (one memorex and one tdk) and I still get this error.I have also tried a couple of different video_ts files with the same results. Any ideas? I've seen varying ideas...it's the drive...it's the media...it's toast...it's osx. I don't care what it is, but I just bought some software that has worked twice and now doesn't work anymore. I'm wondering if it may really be a hardware failure. Have you tried burning discs using Disk Utility, iTunes or the Finder instead of Toast?Something you might try is choosing Save as Disc Image rather than clicking the burn button. The select the disc image using the Image File setting in the Copy window. Insert your bla

Now I http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/spindle-servo-error.299626/ have one I can not for the life of me figure out. Everytime I try to burn, http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/182303-Tracking-and-Spindle-servo-errors I come up with a Spindle Servo Error. I did a sitewide search, and found nothing. Anyone out there who knows what this is and how to resolve it? I am about to cry here. I uninstalled and re-installed everything, from the software to the DVD drive. Please help??? I imagine a Spindle Servo Error indicates that the speed the disc is spinning is not correct. It could be anythings from not spinning at all to not spinning at the correct speed. It could be a problem with the motor or mechanism that clamps the disk to the spindle but might more likely be bad discs. If the center hole of the disc error spindle servo is not correct I would think it could cause this error. I would try different and better discs. You might also try writing at a slower speed. Here is some information about CD's and how speeds and spindles and center holes cause problems. The information would apply to DVD's also. http://www.mscience.com/faq18.html Last edited: Jun 6, 2004 Veblin, Jun 6, 2004 #2 MidnightD Member Joined: Apr 26, 2004 Messages: 21 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 11 Thanks Veblin, these disks are going back. I never thought to check on the disk hole size, but these disks are flawed. I will be sending them back on Monday... MidnightD, Jun 6, 2004 #3 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.) Processes include taking a Picvideo avi, either captured video or targa file animation, like 19 quality, encoding to MPEG-2 using Tmpgenc, using Sony DVD Architect Studio 2.0 to encode to DVD and burn. Have used two different types of media Talon (or Arco Circle) and Optodisc. From what I've read from others is the media may not be the problem. During the burn these errors occur and fail the burn: **** 'SFMMCX'-(17) 'atapi'-(0) -'SONY DVD RW DRU-540A 1.0a'-(1) Module sfmmcx.cpp Line 1639 A hardware error occurred. I've tried switching the drive IDE cable, but this did not fix it. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Is it the drive or Motherbo
