This can apply to both kinds of memory: stored memory on your hard drive, but also dynamic memory in your RAM, which is usually what technicians refer to as “memory”. Profile View Forum Posts Member Posts : 10 Windows 8 BSOD Kernel Data Inpage Error Hello, I have a Gateway GT5408, purchased in 2007 that came with Vista. Last week my system failed to boot and I kept getting the black repair screen on an endless loop. So I replaced what I thought was a faulty hard drive and installed Windows 8. Im now getting a BSOD that reads Kernel Data Inpage Error. So now its obvious to me that it was not just a faulty hard drive, but something else. Guess I should have been paying more attention and tried to investigate that issue first anyway, Im here now. The BSOD seems to only happen when powering on or waking up the hard drive. When I set the hard drive shut down to never and then put the system to sleep, I do not get the BSOD on wake up, but still get errors and registry leaks. I have followed all instructions I can find here on how to get a minidump file, but I just cant get it to create one. There are also some other errors and warnings listed that happen on almost every start up and wake from sleep. Most of this is now way over my head so any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
