Error Writing To Registry Windows 10
moved to a Vista machine, and installed my trusty HomeSite 4.5 on it. Install went fine, but when I try to run it I get only the following error box: Exception EOleSysError in module homesite45.exe at 0007F5F5. Error accessing the OLE registry. So, does HS 4.5 run on Vista? If so, what's wrong with mine? If not, does HS 5.5 run properly on error writing to registry key hkey_local_machine Vista (except for the remote-save problem described in this forum)? I don't want to shell out $29 for an upgrade that will plonk on me. Thanks, Brian I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 8069Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. I love the program and hate to have to switch to something else now. I'm too old!!! Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: HomeSite 4.5 run on Vista? JeffW Sep 21, 2007 11:59 AM (in response to brian_egan) HS 5.5 will run on Vista. There are some things you have to set for rights and compatibility mode. Check other threads here for the details. FWIW, HS 4.5 and 4.0 *are* pretty old. It is probably worth it to upgrade for other reasons too. jw Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. doesn't run. I get an application error when Trying to open Homesite on Windows 7. The specific error http://i.nconspicuo.us/2009/10/21/run-homesite-on-windows-7/ is: Application Error Exception EOIeError in module homesite45.exe at 000803AC. Error http://audials.com/forum/index.php/Thread/4900-Error-Creating-Registry-Key/ creating system registry entry. Has anyone found a workaround to allow Homesite to run on Windows 7 without having to enter Windows XP mode? I've downloaded the XP mode that allows me to open Windows XP as a virtual terminal within Windows 7, but error writing I'd prefer to run Homesite natively when opening it, rather than having to open a Windows XP terminal then having to open Homesite within that window. If you've have any success, please comment below as Homesite has been a favorite for a long time. That got it running. My next hurdle was that it would not connect to any of my mapped network drives. To conquer that I had to turn off the User Account Control ‘feature'. Runs fine now, and Windows 7 is lightyears ahead of Vista. All's right in the world now. Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
