This is the https://www.windowsbbs.com/threads/system-error-category-102-event-id-1003.94887/ error message that I receive. I've scanned the hard drive for bad sectors and found none. I've done two different memory tests on the RAM and found no errors. Does anyone have an idea? Help Please. Here's what I've done: 1) Ran MEMTEST v4 event 1003 twice, NO errors 2) updated ALL drivers, from NIC, BIOS, video, to chipset 3) reinstalled XP but did NOT format Machine STILL crashes with BSODs. Before the reinstall I did see 'DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and a 'PFN_LIST_CORRUPT', both which appear to point to RAM problems. I even went back to use the original RAM chips but it continues to crash. Should I attach the .dmp files/crash log as well? Here are the 2 errors; the 2nd indicates Symantec Anti 102 event 1003 Virus is being disabled. An I/O error may have occurred while the Registry was trying to read one of its files (caused by hardware or file system problems). This message might also appear due to a memory management error (more common in earlier versions of Windows NT). Go HERE and follow the instructions. If that doesn`t help. Zip 5 or 6 of your latest minidumps together and attach them here. Regards Howard   Mar 21, 2006 #2 dar TS Rookie Topic Starter Thanks for your reply. I have done all kinds of checks etc and my ram checks were ok. I suspect a trojan / virus. When i run spyware doctor my pc gets a BSOD. It all started one day when I tried to access files on my 2 pc network at home. My other pc started with the same problem on the same day. This was months ago. I have included a minidump :bounce: Mar 21, 2006 #3 da
