Restart the computer. Access is denied. English: Request a translation of the event description in plain English. Comments: Anonymous I encountered this event on Windows XP SP2 after un-installation of Symantec EndPoint Protection https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH103837.html 11 build 11.0.1000. I had problems with SEP, and after removal, I encountered these errors, which in turn, caused the Remote Access Connection Manager to fail with Event ID 7023. To solve the problem, I had to edit the registry and remove the following keys, which referenced a SymRasMan.dll file: (always back it up/export before altering) HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP\13 HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP\25. x 23 Brett Jarcevic In addition to http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-20035-source-RasMan-eventno-1015-phase-1.htm checking out the MS KB842696 article regarding RRAS errors, if you have Veritas BE installed on a SBS2000 server get the latest tape drivers for the version of BE you are running. Refer to Veritas Support Document ID: 275924 for further information. x 9 Jared Valentine From a newsgroup post: "Delete the NextID value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Telephony\Cards\NextID, and then restart the computer". This seemed to do the trick for me. See the link to "WinDrivers Forums" for the original post. x 7 Anonymous I solved this problem in Windows 2000 by reinstalling the latest Service Pack. x 6 EventID.Net As per Microsoft: "Remote Access Connection Manager (RasMan) cannot initialize a mutex object. Typically, this event is logged when the computer is low on memory". See MSW2KDB for details on this event. As per Microsoft: "This problem may occur if the Veritas Backup Exec program is installed on your computer. A conflict between the Veritas tape device driver and the Routing and Remote Access service may prevent the service from starting". See ME842696 to fix this problem. x 9 Jeff Bunting I had this error on a Win2K SP3 machine. Deleting the registry keys as mention

Tags: Remote Access Event Viewer Windows XP Last response: 5 January 2013 23:26 in Windows XP Share JimCheyne 5 January 2013 03:50:46 Hello, I need some help please. XP Pro SP3, Dell 9400 laptop, Bios A02, Avast In Event Viewer I getting a continual string of the following two Errors: Rasman 20063: Remote Access Connection Manager failed to start because the Point to Point Protocol failed to initialize. The specified module could not be found. Service Control Manager 7023: The Remote Access Connection Manager service terminated with the following error: The specified module could not be found. I can't identify a specific action that triggers this. It seems to be happening all the time. The errors go back as far as Event Viewer lists so I can't identify a specific change that was made to cause it. I'm not ready to upgrade to Win7 yet and would like to avoid completely reinstalling XP if possible. The only things I've found online appear to be associated with Symantec uninstall, which I did several years ago, but suggested fixes don't work. Can anyone point me in the right direction to try to resolve? Thanks in advance for any help!! These Errors are always preceded by these two Informations: Service Control Manager 7035: The Remote Access Connection Manager service was successfully sent a start control. Service Control Manager 7036: The Remote Access Connection Manager service entered the stopped state.
