Close Evolution and try renaming the *.db files under that path (i.e., file.db.backup) to allow Evolution recreate them on start. The solution offered here did not work for me. I also tried to cancel the db-files and to cancel the directory in .gconf but the error reappears. I also worked with gnome in mandriva, fedora and ubuntu with the same files and version of evolution and there it works.
