Evolution Error While Scanning Folders In Imap Server
evolution is src:evolution. Reported by: Uwe Kappe
Fri, 23 Mar 2007 16:46:03 -0500 I am using Evolution 2.01 on SuSE Pro 9.2 (I'll be upgrading both soon). Two of the accounts that I use Evo to read are AOL accounts that I keep for family reasons. This week, Evo has not been able https://bugs.debian.org/645224 to fetch the AOL messages successfully. Each time I try, I get the following error message: ____ error while scanning folders in "IMAP server imap.aol.com" Server unexpectedly disconnected: Connection timed out. ____ The host for receiving mail is designated as https://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2007-March/msg00129.html imap.aol.com and the server for sending mail is set for smtp.aol.com:587 . I have gone to AOL and nothing appears amiss there. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to resolve this problem. TIA. Kelly -- Kelly J. Morris

Server Type: IMAP Server: secure.runbox.com Use Secure Connection: TLS encryption Authentication Type: Password Have I set anything wrong? The error that pops up is: "Error while Scanning folders in "IMAP server secure.runbox.com". Server unexpectedly disconnected: Unknown error" I asked a friend, and the only idea we had is that the server has schizophrenia :P Last edited by dreamsorcerer : 26 Jan 2008 at 03:19 AM. dreamsorcerer View Public Profile Find More Posts by dreamsorcerer 26 Jan 2008, 04:25 AM #2 che Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Posts: 55 The current (broken) and the beta (also broken) IMAP server do not support TLS! You have to use SSL on port 993! This is before it even gets to ask for the password, tested with TLS and SSL. dreamsorcerer View Public Profile Find More Posts by dreamsorcerer 26 Jan 2008, 11:13 PM #6 carverrn Intergalactic Postmaster Join Date: Jan 2002 Location: Chicago, IL Posts: 5,606 Representative of: Runbox.com Does it work without SSL? imap.runbox.com or imap.runbox.com:143 Regards, Rich carverrn View Public Profile Find More Posts by carverrn 27 Jan 2008, 03:23 AM #7 dreamsorcerer Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Posts: 13 Just tested it, yes, it asks for my password, and then downloads fine.
