Fill exact audio copy guide up missing offset samples with silence (Default: enabled, Recommended: enabled) This option controls whether exact audio copy forum EAC adds silence to either the beginning of the first track on the disc or the end of the last track on exact audio copy error correction the disc to make it the correct length in the event that the drive is not configured as being able to overread. Which track is affected depends on the direction of the read offset correction; a positive offset nero aspi correction means the last track on the disc will be padded, a negative offset correction means the first track on the disc will be padded. With this option enabled, all missing samples are replaced with silent samples so that the duration of the affected output file will be the same as on the original CD. If this option is disabled and the drive is not configured as being able to overread, AccurateRip will not try

to verify any tracks ripped. If the use of AccurateRip is desired, it is essential that this option is enabled. Disabling this option can also affect whether a generated cue sheet is considered valid by some programs when it results in a track that is not the correct length. No use of null samples for CRC calculations (Default: enabled, Recommended: disabled) With this option enabled, null samples (silence) of a track will not be counted for CRC checksums. It has no effect on AccurateRip checksums. When this option is enabled and a track has silence at the beginning/end, this could lead to the same CRC checksums, even with different (or even wrong) drive offset values (see EAC drive options). In general, this option should be disabled to ensure compatibility with other programs such as dBpoweramp. Synchronize between tracks (Default: enabled, Recommended: enabled) When ripping adjacent tracks of a CD and this option is enabled, EAC re-synchronizes between these tracks. On some drives, this is important to avoid pops or gaps between tracks, so there's no harm in leaving this enabled. Delete leading and trailing silent blocks (Default: disabled, Recommended: disabled) If a track contains one or more complete (588-sample) blocks of silence at the beginning and/or the end, EAC deletes them when this option is enabled. Solution for ASPI problems in EAC (No CD Found Problem) Dieses Thema im Forum "Exact Audio Copy - English" wurde erstellt von Unregistered, 3 Juli 2002. Seite 1 von 8 1 ← 2 3 4 5 6 → 8 Weiter > Unregistered Expand Collapse Guest REAL SOLUTION for ASPI problems in EAC and Windows XP/2000 This one worked for me flawlessly! I couldn't check ASPI interface in EAC because it was greyed out, even though I had installed the ASPI 4.71 layer from Adaptec. After applying this fix, and rebooting, now I can use ASPI with EAC! And it works great! Thanks to Yakumo for this one: http://www.ntcompatible.com/download.php?id=12 Regards. #1 Unregistered, 3 Juli 2002 Unregistered Expand Collapse Guest Another alternative Hi, There's also another method. DISCLAIMER: EAC is a powerful tool with hundreds of options. No two people will have exactly the same setup or preferences. These preferences produce accurate rips with undamaged and damaged discs, and even if a track has an error, it is usually http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Beginners_guide_to_installing_EAC inaudible. This arrangement strikes a balance between speed and accuracy, leaning more towards accuracy, so http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/need-help-new-technical-problem-with-burrrn-and-eac.286992/ don't expect fast rips on damaged discs. The good news is that you only have to do all this once and then save it! For more information on why these options were chosen see the related Hydrogen Audio thread 1. Installing EAC should be straightforward using the built-in installer. a) If you are installing EAC V0.99 and up you exact audio can skip steps 2, 3, and 4, because they are included with EAC. Discussion of change log here: http://www.digital-inn.de/exact-audio-copy-english/36596-eac-0-99-pb4-released.html 2. Install the AccurateRip software. 3. Once AccurateRip is installed, you need to copy accuraterip.dll from AccurateRip's install folder (typically C:\program files\illustrate\dbpoweramp\) to EAC's install folder (typically C:\program files\Exact Audio Copy\) 4. Then install Flac from the installer. If you don’t want WinAmp installed, select No. Otherwise installation should be straightforward. 5. Now startup exact audio copy EAC, if you have installed AccurateRip correctly (see step 3) then you should see something like this: 6. You must configure AccurateRip by inserting three CDs that are known to AccurateRip. Here is a description of the process from the AccurateRip website: /"Before AccurateRip can be used it must find the correct read offset for your CD drive(s), read offset what is that? every CD drive has a slight reading offset, this value tends to be fixed for each type of drive and is constant (if the drive does not support AccurateStream, ie it has a varying offset each time a track is read then AccurateRip cannot be used, it will never configure). AccurateRip will find the drive offset by using keydiscs, a key disc is a CD someone else has ripped (with a configured read offset) the CD must have more than 5 tracks of a certain length. To configure AccurateRip insert known keydiscs into your CD Ripper (a list of keydiscs is on www.accuraterip.com) if it is recognized (there are many different pressings of the same CD, each pressing is totally different) AccurateRip will automatically offer to find the drive offset."/ 7. Once you have found three CDs that AccurateRip already has in its database, AccurateRip will automatically setup your Read Offset within EAC. 8. Now

I've checked for driver updates. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both software packages. It's just like it does not recognize the DVD-drive for writing but it does for reading. Bizarre.
