Our environment is using Exchange Server 2003 on a Windows 2000 server, with an SSL certificate owa 403 error with OWA. Domain controllers are Windows Server 2003 R2 (Operations Master) and Windows Server 2000. When the user hits the site https://mailserver.domain.com/exchange, the login screen appears and allows the user to enter the login information, but returns the 403 error when the login button is pressed. If the user hits the site https://mailserver.domain.com/exchange/username,

the login is successful. OWA is being made available internally and externally; it doesn't matter whether it's the internal or external mode of the link the results are the same. The odd thing is that this is only happening to one user and has just started recently. If I use another users login, the non-user specific link works just fine. I've compared the non-functional users permissions with one that is working and the permissions and security settings are the same (security folder and mailbox rights). I've looked at the ..\program files\exchsrvr\exchweb folder security and they look correct. This looks like a permissions issue; I just don't know what else I should be checking. Other info: I'm not sure if this is related or not to the issue I'm now having but I recently corrected a few errors that were appearing in IIS for the Public, Exchange, and Exadmin folders/sites. The error were related the object

Join Now I've been driven nuts by Exchange 2013. I've set up probably 100+ exchange servers all the way from 5.5 - 2010, but this new 2013 is killing me. I've gotten through all the issues so far, for example, RPC over HTTPS (outlook anywhere) works, but this latest issue, is 403 forbidden access really driving me crazy. When I run the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer, I get an error very deep into the test. Now, I do have the mobile activesync enabled in the new ECP, and I have a policy set that I think allows any device, but I still get this error. I've got a valid signed cert installed too. I've also tried connecting with an android but I am told my password is wrong, although I'm using the user convention domain\username and the correct password. Anyone have any tips? I've changed the server name for privacy. XMLThe Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer is testing Exchange ActiveSync. The Exchange ActiveSync test failed. I can acces OWA fine, but when I try to view the ECP by going to Options > See All Options, I get the following error:"403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied." I have tried enabling Windows authentication on my ECP vdir in IIS with no luck. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? I can access the ECP just fine when bypassing the VIP and pointing my browser directly to the CAS, or when using TMG.Thanks,Adam 0 Rate this Question Answers to this Question 3 Answers: USER ACCEPTED ANSWER & F5 ACCEPTED ANSWER Updated 14-Oct-2011•Originally posted on 14-Oct-2011 by Michael Koyfman F5 ECP should be setup for forms-based authentication, is it? Are you accessing the entire Exchange using TMG? There are lots of different caveats depending on your configuration/deployment. 0 USER ACCEPTED ANSWER & F5 ACCEPTED ANSWER Updated 14-Oct-2011•Originally posted on 14-Oct-2011 by Adam Miceli 0 Yes, both OWA and ECP are setup for FBA. I have a second web site with a second set of Exchange vdirs and authentication settings that I point my TMG server to. No traffic going through the F5 traverses TMG before or after.I also have another NLB from another manufacturer, and when I point DNS to its VIP, ECP works fine. It seems to be something with the BIG IP. 0 USER ACCEPTED ANSWER & F5 ACCEPTED ANSWER Updated 14-Oct-2011•Originally posted on 14-Oct-2011 by Adam Miceli 0 Nevermind, I found the problem.....the ECP IIS vdir was still set to require SSL :-) Thanks, Adam 0 You must be logged in to answer.
