google but noone has this error come up. I am compiling my c# code in express 2008 and it is linked with tortoise svn. Its a code that does a few things but I keep getting an error when I try compiling or building the code: exited with code 3 The program still runs but I think because im running SVN its reverting it back to the previous state as a result of this error. Has anyone else had this problem. cmd exited with error code 1 thanks raj Monday, November 08, 2010 9:29 AM Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi RajKK86, Welcome to MSDN Forums! ERROR_PATH_NOT_FOUND 3 (0x3) The system cannot find the path specified. From your description we only know it seems that there’s any path is invalid in C# or svn side. 1. You also can download the project to local, and build and debug that project without svn environment to make sure if the root cause is at the svn side. If the project also run with this error message, then you can check your code, if there’s any path is invalid in the C# code. If the project can execute well without this error, then the root cause would be at the svn side. 2. If the root cause is not at C# side, then you need to check the configuration of your svn. Then this is a third party problem and we also not family with that application, it is also out of our support scope. Then you can go to the svn forum for more help. If there’s anything unclear, please feel free to let me know. Have a nice day! Both of them are push_back() calls to my unit vectors. Any idea why push_back() would work fine for around 20 times per vector, then fail (exiting code 3)? Apr 3, 2011 at 7:21pm UTC Athar (4466) Exit code 3 can mean an uncaught exception. Since you don't seem to use exceptions yourself, this is likely due to a std::bad_alloc exception, which generally means that your system has run out of memory. This isn't particularly surprising, considering these lines in the code: path.resize(stats.move); With move never being initialized anywhere (like so many other variables in the program), you might attempt to resize the vector to a billion elements or something similar. Even if you were to initialize tstat.move in main(), there's some problems left. Such as all operator= functions returning an object instance, but missing a return, which leads to some more undefined behavior. They should either return void or look like this: 1

const stat& operator=(const stat& rhs) { [...] return *this; } stat::operator= doesn't copy move, by the way. So the unit's stats move member remains uninitialized. Arjen Markus Tue, 01/15/2013 - 05:41 Does this happen while debugging interactively or does it happen if you run the program in a DOS-box? In a DOS-box you should be able to see a stacktrace. That may not always be so in the interactive debugger. It could mean some runtime error terminated your program. Another possibility is that the program itself calls STOP with an error code (or some C equivalent) You will have to tell us more. Regards, Arjen Top Ajain A.
