issue) using AT&T service I purchased my Nokia E65 new and have been using it for a long time without any issues. It has been a wonderful phone, my favorite yet, however I was updating it via the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) using an official Nokia USB comm cable and part of the way through the update, my USB connection was lost. Now the E65 will not turn on or respond in any way. I have tried nokia e63 certificate free download the *+3+Call+Power key trick and multiple batteries but the phone simply will not respond. When the error occurred, the NSU instructed specifically on how to reconnect the phone and continue, however the USB connection kept showing an error in my Windows XP OS and I never was able to regain connection. Even with the phone not turning on, I attempted connected the USB cable again to another computer and the computer recognized 'something' there, but could not identify it as an E65. PC Suite could not recognize it either. I have talked to Nokia support, but this phone was produced for the Asian market according to the literature that came with the phone and upon entering the IMEI into NokiaUSA's site it is not eligible for repair within the US. If anyone has any advice on how to fix this or who could fix this, it would be very helpful! I purchased a used N95-3 after this happened assuming I would fix the E65 later once I got the N95-3, but the N95-3 has problems of it own - please see this thread. I also recommend you read the post below to see if you suffer from the same problem, good luck! -------- My Problem My e65 is playing funny buggers and I'm starting to hate it. If I'm on a call for more than 5 minutes I get cut off and dumped to a white screen saying "insert sim card", if I reboot then I get either Sim card registration failed or it will run in offline mode. If I switch it off and wait 10 minutes then switch it back on everything is fine but the cycle continues. I also noticed that when I have my phone in a loose fitting pocket I get the error which makes me think it's a hardware fault… like the sim comes loose from the phone😦 It got worse. I installed the latest Nokia PC Suite and downloaded the Nokia Software Updater but it wouldn't connect to my phone. I don't know how I fixed this but I did 1. Restore factory settings on handset 2. Uninstall all applications on handset When I tried the update manager again, no problem. So I am now on the latest firmware update and guess what???? Sim card registration failed. I'm tired, so tired. I've searched the Internet extensively for an answer to be left dry. I think the only option is to get the handset replaced or buy an N95 (or better, an iPhone). My E65 has started displaying similar symptoms. First time around I was in Indonesia and took it to a Nokia showroom where it very strangely came back to life. I thought that was Murphy at his best. Since then it has been occuring frequently, but on a random basis! So I am going to get the new firmware and try. If that doesnt work - then mebbe go for the E71?
