Andy on Oct 29, 2015 | No Comments I hit an annoying issue with Cydia after successfully jailbreaking my iPhone 6s and iPhone 5s using Pangu Jailbreak for Mac. When I launched Cydia for the first cydia failed to fetch error fix time, it took some time "Preparing Filesystem" and it resprung the device as expected. But when I failed to fetch apt saurik com dists ios launched Cydia, I kept getting "Failed to fetch http://apt.saurik.com/dists/ios/1240.10/main/binary-iphoneos-arm/Packages.bz2 Hash Sum mismatch" error. Due to this error, Cydia wasn't able to load all the

while rebooting, but it did not seem to help. I kept getting the "failed to fetch" error. Tapping on Refresh also resulted in the same error. I didn't want to restore my device and jailbreak my devices again as it too time-consuming. How to fix "failed to fetch" error in Cydia I found a strange solution to fix the error. To fix the error, I had to disable Wi-Fi. You can either use your iPhone's cellular connection or connect your device cydia failed to fetch cached failure to your iPhone's Hotspot. When I tapped on Refresh in the Sources tab after disabling Wi-Fi I got the "failed to fetch" error again. But this time I didn't get "Hash Sum mismatch". I didn't face this issue on my iPhone 5s. Tapping on Refresh in the Sources tab again resolved the issue. I got Reloading Data, and was able to install new jailbreak tweaks using Cydia. I haven't faced this issue before. But disabling Wi-Fi worked on my iPhone 6s and iPhone 5s. So I thought of sharing it as I hit it on both the devices. I hope it saves you the trouble of restoring your device. Let me know if you faced this issue, and if this solution helps resolve it. Like this post? Share it! Though there are certain long routes to install different tweaks outside gpg error cydia fix Cydia, but none of them are advisable. There's a strange error encountered by few users after they successfully Jailbroke their iOS 9 device and opened Cydia app. After Cydia prepared its file system and respring the device, re-launching http://www.iphonehacks.com/2015/10/fix-failed-to-fetch-error-in-cydia.html the app gave an ever annoying error: "Failed to fetch http://apt.saurik.com/dists/ios/1240.10/main/binary-iphoneos-arm/Packages.bz2 Hash Sum mismatch." Solution is stranger than the error itself; we are clueless on how does this solution prove to be working, as there is no logical explanation associated with it. Just read the guide given below. How to Fix "failed to fetch" Cydia Error on Jailbroken iPhone and iPad Running iOS 9 Step #1. Toggle OFF Wi-Fi from Settings → Wi-Fi. Step #2. http://www.icydiaos.com/how-to-fix-failed-to-fetch-cydia-error/ Toggle ON Cellular / Mobile data from Settings → Mobile → Mobile Data (Some users will have Cellular data instead of Mobile data). Step #3. Now open Cydia app, tap on Sources located at bottom. Step #4. Tap on Refresh option located in top-left corner. Step #5. You will likely get the same error of "failed to fetch", but without the long Hash Sum mismatch. Step #6. Again tap on Sources tab in Cydia and tap the Refresh option. Cydia will reload the data successfully this time. That is how this error is resolved; it seems strange that turning off Wi-Fi has anything to do with loading sources. One of the users has also commented that using iCleaner app solved this issue for him, but again how can we install iCleaner when Cydia itself is not working. Though there is a work around to install tweak outside Cydia, but it is a time consuming process and also not advisable. Share your feedback with us in comment, on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. This is a typical 404 message that you get when failed to you visit a webpage location that no longer exists. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but it causes an error message to appear in Cydia each time you refresh your list of packages and it attempts to pull data from the non-existent UltraSn0w repo. You'll receive an error that states: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead. Yeah, so no big deal, but it's still a huge annoyance, because this interrupts the stream of refreshing the list of Cydia failed to fetch packages. The fact is that you'll probably never need to use UltraSn0w, and even if you did, you can always add the repo back to Cydia manually. How to remove the Dev Team UltraSn0w repo and stop the "failed to fetch errors" Step 1: open Cydia and tap the Manage tab at the bottom of the screen. Step 2: tap Sources. Step 3: tap Edit in the upper right-hand corner of the Sources page and then tap the red minus sign next to Dev Team and delete the Dev Team UltraSn0w repo (http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com). Step 4: Tap Done in the upper right-hand corner. Step 5: Tap the Changes tab at the bottom of the screen and tap the Refresh button in the upper left-hand corner to refresh your Cydia sources. Step 6: You should notice that the errors from the UltaSn0w repo have stopped occurring. And that's all there is to it. Of course, adding UltraSn0w back is just as easy as removing it. Instead of using Edit > remove, just use Edit > Add on the Sources page, and type in UltraSn0w's repo address. Adding UltraSn0w repo back to Cydia: Step 1: open Cydia and tap the Manage tab at the bottom of the screen. Step 2: tap Sources.
