As a background, I have

to, but when I try to play anything I get "Contacting media server...". I have all firewalls off, and this occurs even when I go from PC 1 -> PC 2, or PC 2 -> PC 1, or PC 1 / PC 2 -> Xbox 360. Now when I did some testing with the Xbox 360 - I discovered something very interesting: If failure to get player info from server pokemon go I try to play a file down to the Xbox 360, I will get stuck at "Contacting media server..." Leave for a few minutes, nothing happens. Come back, play a file using Media Center (on the Xbox 360, which I'm trying to play to) Go back into my "Play to" window I can now use this "Play To" window to mute the volume, pause playback, move back and forth in the playlist, and use the slider to change the position in the currently playing song. All the while, it still says "Contacting media server..." These are fresh installs of Windows 7, so I don't understand why this doesn't work - this is part of the reason why I upgraded, I'd like to put a device to an amp I can play to, but if play to doesn't work then why should I waste my money? Like the commercial says - "Windows 7 was my idea" - but this certainly isn't my idea. Any suggestions? I also have https://mymce.wordpress.com/2012/09/11/fixing-contacting-media-server-issue/ come across the issue of failed to initialize playlist which I found the solution was to the delete the media library located under app data. Followed procedure above and all works brilliantly. Would never have found this without you. Thanks, thanks …. Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here... It says the driver for the Digital Media Rendered is not installed. I go to music and videos and do "Play to" anyway, and it usually just sits on "Contacting media server..." or gives me another error message. I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop if that matters. Any help? Thanks!User Info: hiimboredhiimbored (Topic Creator)3 years ago#2Anybody?User Info: Millertime660Millertime660 3 years ago#3never heard of the feature.... ill have to check it out.User Info: crynryancrynryan 3 years ago#4It was working just fine for me, although I was using it on a WP. I remember reading that you could just use Media Player to push songs to your console. This feels warm. What is this feeling? Is it of warmth? User Info: slowdog76slowdog76 3 years ago#5chances are its because you need to install the xbox video and xbox music apps. all the drivers contained within. i had the same issue, and its been fine ever sinceoccasionally, it wont play doing it from right click>play to, but will work if you launch it from WMP instead, so play/pause/play toI hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.ConfuciusUser Info: hiimboredhiimbored (Topic Creator)3 years ago#6I installed both Xbox Video and Xbox Music so I know that's not the problem. Not sure what you mean by launching from WMP though. When I do "Play to" it never actually brings up WMP, it just gives me an error message.User Info: hiimboredhiimbored (Topic Creator)3 years ago#7Any suggestions?#8(message deleted)User Info: bessy67bessy67 3 years ago#9Go to windows media player on your computer. Click on "stream" and make sure your Xbox One is on the list of devices you can stream to. Once the streaming settings are all set up, right click on the files in WMP you want to stream and choose "play to" then select your Xbox One. This is how I do it with Windows 7, not sure if it's different for Windows 8."Immigrants. That's all they do, you know. Just driving around, listening to raps
