I did a rescan last night for analog stations after changing the cable from STD to HRC, just for the heck of it. Not sure which worked or if it was a combination of the two changes, but now I'm good to go. Now I just have to figure out how to hide the stupid DTA box. Thanks Comcast. 0 Kudos Posted by JayInAlg 03-24-2010 11:39 PM Cable Expert View All Member Since: 03-02-2007 Posts: 17,749 Message 2 of 3 (11,780 Views) Re: "Failed to receive broadcast" message on screen of Sharp 19" flat screen Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Report So you probably are not getting the DTA menu either? Next step is on the TV to do a rescan of channels, you need to have t
a brand new Sharp Aquos and a Comcast digital cable box.... I receive a 'unable to receive broadcast [e202]' message on the local hd channels suddenly. What is up with this? All of a sudden, none of my HD stuff is coming in, and it's bowl http://forum.dvdtalk.com/archive/t-521603.html season! My digital cable box works fine, as does normal ota channels. But all the HD channels http://www.highdefforum.com/local-hdtv-info-reception/73096-television-troubles-please-help.html are not. Thing is, I never had any sort of external antenna before, and I was picking up HD local stuff perfectly fine with just the TV's ATSC tuner. What gives? We don't have any antennas, and the cable works...just no HD. Also, for example, ABC HD used to be 2.1, and regular ABC was 2. Now, regular ABC is 3, but 3.1 does not come in, nor does failed to 2.1. Initially I had coaxial cables running from the TV and cable box into a splitter, running to the wall. I was getting digital cable (w/out paying for HD) and local HD stuff for free. Now, its gone. I know I am in the Atlanta market, I'm 25 miles from downtown. So am I to assume that Comcast changed something to where I can't get HD OTA now? Is the Sharp's ATSC tuner messed up, or is it possible I'm going to need an external antenna because failed to receive of comcast? Chew01-04-08, 06:27 AMTry making use of this site and see what it tells you for an antenna requirement: http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx Also, how about going into the TV menu and clearing all the channels it has in memory and then rescanning? It's possible they're just on a different frequency. dleedlee01-04-08, 08:50 AMI'm curious about this too. Same thing happened when my dad switched over from regular cable to digital cable service. I thought that maybe the digital cable box (he has the cheapest most basic one, can't remember the model) either didn't pass them or scrambled the channels. Rescanning didn't help, at least I couldn't refind the local HD channels anymore. I can't remember but I think I tried as a test temporarily bypassing the cable box and the n-1, n-2 channels came back. I know on the other TV w/o the cable box (via splitter), the digital channels still come through, so it's definitely something with the box itself. If you have a spare input for an antenna then that could be your solution to get it over the air but my dad's model only has the one input and it's being used for the cable. DVD Josh01-04-08, 09:18 AMAre you using OTA antenna or QAM? If your TV supports QAM, I'd try that instead of OTA. StephenX01-04-08, 10:35 AMAre you using OTA antenna or QAM? Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 6 Television troubles :{ Please Help Ok, maybe I am just dumb, but I can not get my new television to receive any digital channels. Here is the scoop. It is a Sharp Aquos 32d43u model LCD TV. It is supposed to have a built in digital tuner. I just have a cheap rabbit ear antenna for right now hooked up to it. I did a channel search for analog and digital search for channels and the only thing it finds is analog stations. There is another option on the menu screen that says "antenna setup-DIGITAL" but it will not let me select it. If I manually select a digital channel it gives me an "E202 Failed to receive broadcast" message. I thought it may be the antenna that is not allowing me to pull in digital channels, but I hooked up a digital antenna and had no different results. I hooked a analog/digital converter up to the tv today and it was able to pull in 25 digital channels with the rabbit ears. I contacted sharp customer service a while ago and have still not heard back from them. 06-02-2008, 04:12 PM #2 deadhead68 Football in HD, mmm good! From looking at the manual, if you select "Air" there is no option for analog or digital it is an all channel
