Are you on a 32 bit system by chance? (Dota2 now only supports 64 bit Linux). BeastOutside commented Sep 11, 2015 If you see message with "Force Quit" and "Wait",just press wait, and game will be minimize into dock. Now,just https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota-2/issues/401 click to "Dota 2",and your game will run.I think, this is an patheon issue, but if u do what i sayed, game works P.S. sorry for bad english caesium1107 commented Sep 11, 2015 Hi David. Yes, I'm on a 32 bit system, though was not aware that Dota 2 only supports 64 bit Linux currently. Is there any future update that will enable 32 bit Linux to run Dota 2 (so that I don't have to reinstall my os)? And is 32 bit Windows still being supported? Thanks. ArnaudAndre commented Sep 11, 2015 See david's answer in #18 . No plan to keep supporting 32 bit linux. They're still building for 32 bit windows. davidw-valve commented Sep 11, 2015 I am afraid that we don't have any plans to support Dota2 on 32 bit Linux going forward. The Linux ecosystem has great support for 64 bit applications and that is what most users use. We do still support 32 bit on Windows. davidw-valve closed this Sep 11, 2015 dafuq1337 commented Apr 11, 2016 Could you at least fix that I can install it, if I can't run it - and if that's to much work, at least give a decent error message? It seems like a huge waste of time and broadband to install it (twice). While

This problem seems to be really common, also for other platforms. gdrewb-valve added the reviewed label Aug 11, 2015 gdrewb-valve self-assigned this Aug 11, 2015 gdrewb-valve commented Aug 11, 2015 The tools only exist for Windows so this isn't supposed to work. As they're also done as failed to start a DLC I'm not sure they can be hidden per-platform but I'll check. gdrewb-valve commented Aug 11, 2015 How did you set up the workshop tools? How are you trying to launch them? clankill3r commented Aug 11, 2015 Talking about mac: First I just downloaded under tools "Dota 2 Workshop Tools Alpha". This with steam not being in Beta Participation and Dota 2 not being installed. (I just wanted to play with hammer and I was hoping I could launch it without the need of Dota 2). Then I tried a lot of things where I can't remember the order. On a mac the only way to launch it seems to be from the tool menu. On windows I can launch it with no problem (I did go in steam beta and added the DLC). I just start Dota 2 and it prompts me with 3 options where one is launching the tools. I didn't even need to install the tools on windows in order to be able to run them. I hope this helps. gdrewb-valve commented Aug 11, 2015 On my Mac the Workshop Tools entry says "this pr
I had (Failed to start game (missing executable)), when first installing the new workshop tools. Opt in for Steam beta, this is done by going into "Steam" (top left corner in steam) -> "Settings" and then in the "Account" tab opt in for the Steam Beta. Restart Team Force a Dota 2 update by right clicking on Dota 2 in yo u installed games list, then "Properties", and under the "Local Files" tab click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" Wait for the 5.5 GB download to complete. Go to "Library" and select "Tools", then install "Dota 2 Workshop Tools Alpha" This solved the problem for me on Linux at least, I do not know if this works for Windows and OS X users, but I reckon that this solution should work for you as well if you use Windows or OS X. blogroll Fredrik Sævland social atom feed twitter github Proudly powered by Pelican, which takes great advantage of Python.
