I had originally installed 7.22, found errors, read that I should instead install 7.21 and upgrade, so I attempted http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23683269/how-to-get-rid-of-warning-file-put-contentstemporary-failed-to-open-stre that but am now receiving the following error at the Configure Site page of the install process. I am installing with root authority, so I am stumped as to why I am failed to getting a permissions error. I have redacted the actual database username and replaced with [database username]. Warning: fopen(D:\Webs\[database username]\drupal-7.21/sites/default/settings.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in drupal_rewrite_settings() (line 652 of D:\Webs\[database username]\drupal-7.21\includes\install.inc). Thank you so much for any help, I really don't know what else to try! As a note, I do still have the default sites folder on the server from when I failed to open installed 7.22. I have renamed it to "oldsites" because it will not allow me to delete it from the server. Try setting them to 777 ( in SSH: chmod 777 setting.php ) Change it back to something sensible like 644 once you've installed successfully. I'd bet that's your issue. However, when you say you're installing with root authority do you mean you uploaded the files as the root user too? Is your files and dir owner set as root? You don't want that :-) Log in or register to post comments News itemsDrupal news Planet Drupal Association news Social media directory Security announcements Jobs Our communityCommunity Getting involved Services, Training & Hosting Groups & Meetups DrupalCon Code of conduct DocumentationDocumentation Drupal 8 docs Drupal 7 docs Developer docs api.drupal.org Drupal code baseDownload & Extend Drupal core Modules Themes Distributions Governance of communityAbout Web accessibility The Drupal Association About Drupal.org Terms of service Privacy policy Drupal is a registered trademark of Dries Buytaert.
