Join Now Hi everyone, I've made a stupid mistake and extadsch error code 8202 hoping that the damage won't be too terrible. I'm trying to install a trial failed to extend the active directory schema your windows nt logon id of Microsoft SCCM 2012 to manage apps and Windows deployments. I ran the prerequisite check and it gave me a warning
Failed To Extend Active Directory Schema 8202
saying I should extend the Active Directory Schema to get the full benefit of the program. I attempted to run the schema update from a non-DC server with the domain admin account. These were http://www.novell.com/documentation/nwec/?page=/documentation/nwec/nwec/data/hzyn5hcc.html the errors I got in the error log "ExtADSch.log": <03-19-2013 15:06:39> Failed to create class cn=MS-SMS-Management-Point. Error code = 8202. <03-19-2013 15:06:39> Failed to create class cn=MS-SMS-Server-Locator-Point. Error code = 8202. <03-19-2013 15:06:39> Failed to create class cn=MS-SMS-Site. Error code = 8202. <03-19-2013 15:06:39> Failed to extend the Active Directory schema, please find details in "C:\ExtADSch.log". After https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/315136-ad-schema-extension-failed-what-now I attempted the procedure I read that if it didn't work I should restore the system state they wanted me to create in step one. Like a bonehead I didn't create the system state backup. Did I just cause damage to my Directory? Looking at various sites yields inconclusive results. Thanks for your explanations. I'm learning my lesson, I'm just hoping it doesn't mean I'm up the creek. I think you can edit the schema update file and try again. From memory there are settings that you need to manually configure in the schema file prior to doing the import - you have to manually change some settings if you are upgrading an Active directory that was extended for SMS and have to change some LDAP entries for your correct domain name. I would try again and see what happens when you go through the C:\ExtADSch.log abd fix

The log file shows that I connected successfully, but then aborts the operation with an error 8202. Anyone know what error 8202 is? Thanks,rvail2 Imported from legacy forums. However, error 8202 does not seem to be an FTP protocol error. Is this error code generated by PowerBuilder? Or is it the reply from the server itself? Is the log file you are referring to generated by setting the CommandLogFilename property? Imported from legacy forums.
