server I stepped into an error. It could just not start, and while using radiusd rlm_eap: failed to initialize type tls -X to start freeradius in debug mode, it let me know what the problem was, but I was just not able to understand it. Finally found the solution. Freeradius error These are the most important lines that radiusd -X put on the screen. rlm_eap: SSL error error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0) rlm_eap_tls: Error loading randomness rlm_eap: Failed to initialize type tls /etc/raddb/eap.conf[17]: Instantiation failed for module "eap" /etc/raddb/sites-enabled/inner-tunnel[236]: Failed to load module "eap". /etc/raddb/sites-enabled/inner-tunnel[189]: Errors parsing authenticate section. Solution The whole problem was that the file /etc/raddb/certs/random were not present, and all I needed to do was to create it. dd if=/dev/urandom of=./random count=10 All solved. You have to change the permissions at the file /etc/freeradius/certs/server.key. share|improve this answer edited Dec 2 '14 at 13:56 answered Dec 2 '14 at 9:01 KostasC 3981516 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
