Spnego Login Failed: Nt_status_no_such_user
I just upgraded my OMV server from .5 to 1.0 (i believe i am at 1.0.29). I did not back up the old config file from my previous install as i wanted to start from scratch. i mounted my hard drives again, re-created users, re-established shared folders, and created the SMB/CIFS Shares. The first user i setup went fine, i was able to check_sam_security couldn t find user in passdb mount the share on my linux desktop. The second user is being more problematic. I tried to mount the share on another linux desktop and i am getting the following error in my log file: smbd[28182]: check_ntlm_password: Authentication for user [user2] -> [user2] FAILED with error NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD I thought there was something jacked up with my password so i changed it to something ridiculously small and easy to type in the command line. I still can't get the share to mount properly. I am using the same syntax to mount both shares. the share mounted fine with the original setup. If it would be helpful i can post the line in my fstab i use to mount the shares. I can also up the log level if the error message i posted isn't enough information. If anybody has any ideas about what could be causing this please share, it's driving me crazy. Thanks, I really really appreciate the help. Server Authentication Problem tgiceApril 20th, 2010, 10:15 PMI've been working for hours with https://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1458908.html Samba on Ubuntu Server 9.10 (Samba version 3.4.0), trying to get https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/494735-Samba-and-guest-access it setup simply as a fileserver that performs authentication to an NT 4 server (yes, I know, old and out of date). After much struggling, I finally realized that my configuration *was* working when the clients connecting (from XP, and Win2k failed with clients, mostly) were actually joined to the domain (where the PDC is the NT 4 Server) and logged into the domain. For various reasons, many of the Windows clients at this location don't actually log into the domain, even though they have login/passwords that are valid users on the domain and failed with error they'll typically have some drives mapped to the PDC. By the way, I have this working on another Linux box running Samba 3.0.28, so I'm sure it's possible, I'm just lost as to how to do it. When I try to connect to a share on my new Samba box, I see entries like these in the logs: [2010/04/20 15:24:29, 3] auth/auth.c:222(check_ntlm_password) check_ntlm_password: Checking password for unmapped user []\[]@[client1] with the new password interface [2010/04/20 15:24:29, 3] auth/auth.c:225(check_ntlm_password) check_ntlm_password: mapped user is: [FILESRV]\[]@[client1] [2010/04/20 15:24:29, 3] auth/auth.c:271(check_ntlm_password) check_ntlm_password: guest authentication for user [] succeeded [2010/04/20 15:24:29, 0] param/loadparm.c:9783(widelinks_warning) Share 'IPC$' has wide links and unix extensions enabled. I would like guest access (no prompt for username & pass) and write access on my /home dir. Right now, when I browse to my samba share it prompts for a username and pass despite having the allow guest options in my conf. It won't even let me login to my own share with my current username and pass. I've tried many other options and commenting various lines in the global part but nothing works. Here's my smb.conf Code: [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP netbios name = Devbook passdb backend = tdbsam printing = cups printcap name = cups printcap cache time = 750 cups options = raw map to guest = Bad User include = /etc/samba/dhcp.conf logon path = \\%L\profiles\.msprofile logon home = \\%L\%U\.9xprofile logon drive = P: usershare allow guests = No domain logons = Yes domain master = Yes security = user wins support = No add machine script = /usr/sbin/useradd -c Machine -d /var/lib/nobody -s /bin/false %m$ local master = Yes os level = 65 preferred master = Yes wins server = [users] comment = All users path = /home read only = No inherit acls = Yes veto files = /aquota.user/groups/shares/ browseable = Yes create mask = 755 directory mask = 755 guest ok = Yes guest only = Yes Reply With Quote 22-Jan-2014,16:12 #2 venzkep View Profile View Forum Posts View Blog Entries View Articles Wise Penguin Join Date Nov 2009 Location ND, USA Posts 1,140 Re: Samba and guest access On 1/22/2014 2:36 PM, own3dbydsquared wrote: > > I'm setting up a simple samba share on my home network.
