definitely spinning away. Certain programs (mostly large games like Diablo 3 and Dragon Age) will crash the program shortly after starting up, if not crashing the entire computer, and many smaller programs will freeze or close on their own, which I have been told may be a sign of overheating. I've tried restarting the computer a number of times, uninstalling the games, plugging the fan into different ports on the motherboard (in cpu fan error on boot but fan is running case I had it wrong), and even bought a new fan, and I still keep getting this message. I've had this new computer for around a week now and it has been nothing but trouble. All I want is for it to work. Can someone please help me? The way to find it is to click configure once installed. Temps will then be given. Post back what the temp is usually around (ex: if it goes from like 18 to 20 to 19 to 20, just say like 20). I also keep getting error messages saying that "windows explorer is not responding" every few seconds, at which point my desktop, start menu, and toolbar all reset, until finally they decide to just close instead of restarting (All that appears on my desktop is the background. Cpu Fan Error On Boot Liquid Cooling
I just finished my very first build and at boot I got a cpu fan error. lenovo fan error on boot I've got a Noctua NH-U14S for CPU cooling and it's plugged into the main CPU fan connection. The motherboard acknowledges the existence of computer fan error on boot the CPU fan but it seems to think it's running too low (it's at 568 RPM with a CPU temperature of 32C showing BIOS). It seems the lowest RPM without warning is 600RPM. I'm a total noob so I'm http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/cpu-fan-error-on-boot-but-fan-is-running really just clueless about if this is an actual issue or not. Is 32C for a CPU that's just showing BIOS normal? Should my CPU fan be working harder right now and keeping the CPU cooler? If this isn't an issue, I'm guessing it's all right to lower the threshold for cpu fan warning to something closer to 400-500RPM, right? If this isn't normal and it's an actual problem, what can I do about it? I mean, the http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1728332/cpu-fan-error-boot.html fan is recognized by the system and it seems to run, just a bit slower than the motherboard expects it to. Then again, I can't run any tests on it (playing games or stuff like that) at the moment since I'm waiting for my OS to be delivered. My build is the following: ASUS Z87-PRO Intel i7-4770k Kingston DDR3 HyperX Predator 8GB Noctua NH-U14S CPU Cooler EVGA GeForce GTX770 Corsair AX860 PSU Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help me. As soon as you boot up, grab a temp monitoring program (CoreTemp, RealTemp, etc..) and watch it there. If things stay pretty cool (within 5c or so of your BIOS reading), you should be good to go. m 1 l Best solution geofelt a c 925 à CPUs a c 634 V Motherboard 9 July 2013 21:57:38 I have had the same issue. In the motherboard bios, there will be some fan control settings. One sets the rpm at which a fan warning is issued. The default is likely 600 rpm. Just lower that number to 300 rpm, and you should be good. The noctua coolers run very qu
FAN. You can refer to the steps below to resolve the issue. https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1006064 1. Please make sure the CPU FAN is installed on the right position of the motherboard and twist the screws tightly 2. Ensure that the https://www.quora.com/When-I-boot-up-my-PC-this-error-CPU-fan-has-failed-is-shown-What-could-be-the-possible-problem CPU FAN cable is securely installed to the CPU_FAN connector instead of the CHA_FAN. 3. If you install the other brand of CPU FAN with lower fan error revolutions speed, the system may not able to detect it correctly. You can try to set "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" to 200 RPM in BIOS configuration. * "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" appears only when you set the CPU Q-Fan Control to [DC Mode], [PWM Mode], and [Auto]. For those early fan error on versions, you need to set the CPU Q-Fan Control to [Enabled], [Advance Mode] or [Auto]. 4. You can set Monitor->CPU FAN Speed to [Ignore] if you don't want to open the computer case. *You can set CPU FAN Speed to [Ignore] if your computer coming with water cooling system without fan. 5. Update the BIOS to the latest version. http://www.asus.com/support/faq/1008279/ If the issue still occurs, please consult with ASUS Service Center.

Knyshov, I run a data recovery companyWritten 84w agoWhen the CPU fan fails to report rotational speed above the threshold of failure to the motherboard, the motherboard will alert you by saying that the CPU fan has failedOn a desktop, the CPU fan connects to your motherboard with a 4-pin (older technology and some aftermarket fans use 3 pins) power connector. There are temperature sensors on the motherboard. There are also usually multiple 3-pin (they are sometimes 4-pin) headers (groups of multiple pins with a plastic "key" to ensure correct orientation of the connector) into which the fans get plugged in. Laptops have a similar arrangement, but they may use non-standard connectors. On this example board, the CPU fan is connected into the 4-pin header and there is another 3-pin header next to it.While operating properly, the CPU fan reports back to the motherboard its current rotational speed. The motherboard regulates the speed of that fan according to the temperature reported by the CPU temperature sensor. If that speed is too low or missing, the motherboard will say the fan has failed. You can simulate this failure by unplugging the fan from CPU header and connecting it to any other fan header, like Case Fan. It will still spin, but your motherboard will complain because it will think there is no CPU fan attached.Others explained how to solve the problem. Do not run a computer without a CPU fan even for a second. Use a thermal compound to improve heat transfer efficiency. The cooler your CPU operates, the happier your computer feels.4.2k Views · View Upvotes · Answer requested by Andrew GutschRelated QuestionsMore Answers BelowWhat is the best way to check if my laptop is failing due to the CPU/GPU or a fan problem? What can I do if my CPU's fan runs and then stops but it does not boot up?What exactly do Microsoft Windows 7 Boot Repair d
