Try booting from cdrom to check: ok> boot cdrom -sw If that succeeds, then get a shell prompt and: # installboot /usr/platform/`uname -i`/lib/fs/ufs/bootblk

I have tested several Sparc64 linux distributions, and only Debian 5 (Linux 2.6.26) and Ubuntu Gutsy (2.6.22) boot over network (TFTP), rest of tested systems fails to ok prompt when loading kernel (before Linux execution) with https://community.oracle.com/thread/1907924 error: "/packages/obp-tftp: Last Trap: Fast Data Access MMU Miss". Do you know how to fix or debug it? Thanks in advance! Best Edited by: JuanjoAI on Sep 26, 2009 10:10 AM 1408Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 1 reply 1. Re: "Fast Data Access MMU Miss" errors when booting Linux on T2000 server rukbat Sep 27, 2009 3:07 PM (in response to 807557) That's not the least bit surprising. There are versions of Solaris 10 and OpenSolaris that won't function on the UltraSPARC T1 CMT architecture, either. I don't think there is anything you can do to tweak the OS's you have currently chosen to investigate. However, that would be a discussion that is better suited in some sort of Linux forum. Rewriting a kernel is outside the scope of the Hardware Forums. RE: Fast Data Access MMU Miss reinstalled (IS/IT--Management) (OP) 16 Mar 05 10:39 That particular error is not very descriptive and according to Sun it means a lot of different possibilities. They also say that it's most likely a third party application fault and to contact the vendor. Since this is a brand new box with no third party app's installed I'm not buying their explaination. So it's a catch-all error message that doesn't give any indication as to the
