#1 wtchtfl wtchtfl Members 28 posts OFFLINE Local time:01:01 AM Posted 12 October 2012 - 12:39 PM My Dell D620 Latitude laptop running XP professional has come to a stop. It could not make a network connection so I uninstalled D-Link and reinstalled it and connected just fine, everything was working fine until the PC had to restart due to system updates installed. This is the error message: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000135 (0x00000000 0x00000000). The system has been shut down. This is as far as the PC goes I tried starting in safe mode, I ran the Dell Diagnostics everything passed except for the battery test failed.( I have the laptop on a dock) It can't reboot, the Blue Screen keeps staring me in my face. What do I do? Your help in this matter is much appreciated. Thanks! Thanks in advance. More about : toubleshooting stop c000021a fatal system error Best solution Phillip Corcoran February 6, 2015 8:45:44 AM Windows being what it is, it's just one of those many things which happen from time to time. However, you may want to test the hard drive with the drive maker's diagnostic software for DOS which loads from a bootable CD (you can't test drive containing Windows with Windows-based software). For WD hard drives, the link to the CD image is here: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/topic/63494-looking... For other makes see links here: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 (The WD link on the above page is only for creating a floppy-disk image, hence no good for many PC owners nowadays). When you've created the CD from the relevant CD image, boot the computer from it to access the testing software. Share Can't find your answer ? Ask ! Bydeathofrage Sep 6, 2005 Hello I'm James, When I turned on my computer I remembered the Scandisk (or disk check?) was running when it was booting up. Usually I just skip it but this time I let it run and it was also running fine last night. After it finished the blue screen: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000135 (0x00000000 0x0000000) The system has been shutdown.Click to expand... poped up before the login window showed. I've tried to get in with safe mode and other selections from the f-8 menu but all lead to the blue screen. I've rebooted alot of times and found a similar solution Here with my other computer. But I can't get in to use command prompt so... right now I guess I can only use Windows XP Recovery Center to somehow solve it. Oh and my computer is a Compaq with Windows Xp Prof.. if you need anymore info ask.
