Frigidaire Affinity Pause Error
My washer threw the e41 code. I bought and replaced the door latch mechanism, but it doesn't appear to have solved the problem. The washer stopped mid cycle last night and won't drain or spin. Any help please! The washer seems to wash and spin fine once it starts (it fully completes the wash cycle). It just beeps like crazy the entire cycle (the water temp panel lights flash), and alerting that there is an error (ERR). Even when the washer is not being used, it beeps constantly (so i just unplug it when not using it). Most times I can get the washer going despite the beeps, and despite not being able to select the preferred water temp (because the lights are cycling or flashing constantly). There have been a handful of times that it is beeping off the hook and will not respond to pressing the start button to get it going. There have also been a few times when the door would not lock right away, and the washer paused until I reopened and closed the door. After researching this forum and following the tests for E41 this is what I found (or didn't find). 1. Resistance of the PTC was approx. 1200 ohms (assuming i measured it correctly) 2. The door strike looks fine. 3. I tried the recommendation of starting the washer in spin mode for 5 minutes and then unplugging to see if the door would unlock, and it remains locked. 4. All components appear to be working when I did the diagnostic test, including the fast spin cycle. So, do I assume that the control panel needs to be replaced? Does the beeping have to do with being in the diagnostic mode (It does not respond to the manuals instruction for exiting this mode or clearing the error code)? Please help! Thanks.
