create a shared folder on the server I am replicating to and from the source server I say new replica and enable automatic replication and set the source to be master. Then when I checked the status of the replica it seems to be fine . But it actually does not. I seem to get an inconsistency in this regard. Sometimes the folder replicates after a very long time and it is fine after that. The other times I get this error which I have pasted below from the Event viewers file replication log. When this error occurs no replication happens at all. I have tried all kinds of procedures but cant get it to work with a certain amount of consistency. I would be grateful for any hints or help. Regards, Harish The File Replication Service is unable to add this computer to the following replica set: "DFSROOT|DOCUMENTS" This could be caused by a number of problems such as: -- an invalid root path, -- a missing directory, -- a missing disk volume, -- a file system on the volume that does not support NTFS 5.0 The information below may help to resolve the problem: Computer DNS name is "dc1Mstr.VelozGlobalSolutions.com" Replica set member name is "{98F4F947-F7E2-4527-9C58-F31D8DDD9306}" Replica set root path is "e:\documents" Replica staging directory path is "c:\frs-staging" Replica working directory path is "c:\winnt\ntfrs\jet" Windows error status code is ERROR_BAD_COMMAND FRS error status code is FrsErrorResourceInUse Other event log messages may also help determine the problem. Correct the problem and the service will attempt to restart replication Top 1.
