When it came to installing FRx I had a bit of a problem. I had installed and configured it on the SQL Server without frx 8900 any problem, but when I installed it on a Terminal Server I ran into the following error; FRx Professional - FRx32.OSFIMain.CheckOFSIConnection - 8900: Frx is unable to open a connection to the general ledger database because the specified ODBC data source is not value. Veryify that the data source exists on the computer As error messages go, it is very descriptive, but it had frx 8900 error me bouncing between SQL Server and Terminal Server comparing ODBC going "they're the same!", before I realised they weren't. The SQL Server had the ODBC Name defined as Dynamics GP and the Terminal Server had it set to DynamicsGP. The lack of a space on the second one was causing the problem because the ODBC really didn't match. Once I renamed the second one, I was able to log into FRx. The reason I hand't noticed the problem straight away was that with GP it is the server which must be identical; you can get away with the ODBC name being different as the user selects the ODBC when logging in, but in FRx you set the ODBC in the SysData. She has used the two pieces of software for years without issues and out of nowhere about 2 weeks ago she started getting this error.""FRx32.OFSIMain.CheckOFSIConnection 8900: A DirectLink error has occurred during the ConnectToFinSysEntity procedure"".I've had multiple support teams look at this issue and now that they are out of the office this week for holidays and such, I've started to look into fixing the issue myself. I know very little about MAS90. This is on a client machine that connects to a server. The company has been re-made in FRx. The Workstation setup has been ran on the workstation (Nothing happens when its ran, is that correct?) I've tried to existing WRKsetup.exe and downloaded a new copy. I've double and triple checked permissions and nothing has changed; if anything the user has even MORE rights now. I've tried re-installing FRx entirely.Anyone else had similar issues? I've seen a few Microsoft articles but they all pretain to other version of MAS and have had no effect on my issue.Any ideas? eaglenest 31 Dec 2012 12:05 AM Cancel 1 Reply rmikolainis 2 Jan 2013 4:46 AM Check what the ODBC datasource is in FRx. You might need to create that datasource on the PC.
